It's a PHONE, how about you just call the person instead? It seems so pointless to waste you time thumbing in silly little messages that people can barely understand instead of just punching in their phone number and saying what you need to say.

Hitting the scroll lock button twice makes my KVM toggle between computers. Still a pretty useful button for me.
Mozilla Thunderbird is nice. Actually, the whole Mozilla suit is nice.
Personally I use Mozilla Firefox for web browsing, and Mozilla Thunderbird for all my email stuffs. I couldn't be happier with them.
I live in the Sonora desert. Now I would appreciate if if you don't cover up my living area with algea, you insensitive clods!
But really, it wouldn't makse much sense to have it all in one area. Lots of little farms of it all over the world would be quite interesting though. A few miles here, a few there, and the world is happy.
That's pretty funny that this is actually considered news. Only on slashdot will you find people excited about knowing which coffee has the most caffiene.
On a different note; I'll be back from starbucks in a few minutes.
It could be worse; they could still be posting minute-by-minute updates of the whole SCO thing.
Interesting..

But I think a neat idea for streaming audio would be a BitTorrent type protocol, where if you listen to the stream a client will help distrubute it to other listeners using your bandwidth. There could be some issues with it I suppose, but I think it could be a reasonable idea.
Please don't do this to your child. The amount of teasing and being made fun of can not be measured in any existing unit of mesurement. It may be cute on IRC, but please, please, don't actually name someone like this.
Doesn't have to be good for them to charge a lot for it. Quality doesn't always come with price, in a year from now that price of this will have gone down 50%. New technology is always expensive; the big downside to living on the bleeding-edge.
How do they plan to get that much space.. We're talking 47.6837158 petabytes after they get 50 million users. 50 million is a bit high, but who wouldn't want to take advantage of this? You also have to account for people who sign up for more than one account if it's possible to do so.
Also, what about the the massive multiplayer games? I think they are the future, and the sky is the limit there.
Totally. MMOL lumberjacking is where it's at.
They should really do some double checking on this stuff. It's hard to imagine mistakes like this happen when dealing with something that holds the fate of a handfull of people's lives; not to mention all the millions of dollars put into these projects that would go down the drain. When dealing with people's lives and huge sums of money it's worth it to go over _everything_, and put in for better training so these thing don't happen again. They caught it this time, but if they don't take enough precaution, they might not be so lucky in the future.
Well, like the article says, they only pay them half as much as they would Americans, so there might be the "getting what you pay for" factor, not saying American devs write better code; far from it. But when you pay half has much, you can't always expect the same quality.
First developers (Or many tech related jobs) and now writers.. This is starting to get really scary, especially for people my age; I'm still in high school and it's going to be a few years before I can get a _real_ job, and at this rate it's going to be hard to find any local ones. This really needs to stop, or at least be done in moderation, it's getting out of hand.
That this is a good idea, that way people stop making random porn.coms,.nets, etc. And just go.sex and.xxx, etc. That way you can just have your broswer deny access to.sex or.xxx domains, and you don't have to worry about your children stumbling upon them. This, of course, wouldn't put an end to.com porn, but it would still be a big help in filtering out porn in the future.
Something about the 'shout-outs' in this article that keeps me from taking it a bit more seriously.

Very clever
This makes me want to cry. Seriously, I pay extra on my cable bill to get TechTV, I don't know what I'll do without it. This sucks. I hate Comcast.
What a great new way to search for porn!
Yeah, so do I. Let's join forces and bring those mini spy plan fiends down!
Want to be there when they land; free cell phones for life!
Adding insult to injury.

Yes, I think that's how many of us feel.. Less local jobs, same price for the product, more money for the CEOs/top dogs.
Talk about digging for gold... His claim is pretty outrageous. Some people will do just about anything for money or publicity.
