Learned about photography in boy scouts on a Canon AT-1...boy I feel old, all these youngsters running around today with their robot cameras built into their phones!
I am working on a MSC in Computer Science and we need some feedback on what people consider a blog to be. We would be grateful if you could help us out!
Just postulating here, but given the behaviour of some of the spyware and viruses I have seen, I am wondering if maybe this is related to the increase in fradulent clicks.
A recent virus I saw would redirect most traffic to those domain parking sites, and pseudo-search engines that (with names like, searchmastertoyou115.com) seem to be nothing more than a method for fradulent click through payments.
I have never liked Star Trek, as it felt too much mired in the time period it was created
(The whole Klingon=USSR/Federation=USA doesnt work for someone who never had to deal with the Cold War)
In terms of Matt's acting ability, I think he is quite good, and certainly much better than Shatner (LUCY in THE...sky....WITH...diamonds).
So, I for one, welcome our new hip Star Trek overlords.
Lets see if I can create a post similar to the OPs in terms of grammatic logic and eloquence....
"OMG, DIEBOLD IS TEH HAXORZ, DIEBOLD NO MAKE GOOD ELECTION MACHINE! WITCH-DOCTOR? I HAVE TO TEH TELL MY l33t SPEAK HOMIEZ ON SLASHDOT...."
Ok, maybe mine was more coherent, but I came close!
I have always had trouble understanding how spyware can be legal anyway...
I mean basically the company is spying on you, its similar to if Walmart hired someone to constantly stalk you and take notes on what kind of shampoo you buy...it just does not seem logical.
But then who said laws have to be logical, I mean the RIAA/MPAA DMCA CRAP states that for each movie/song one downloads the loss to the companies is the hundreds of thousands of dollars, doesnt really make sense does it...
Does anyone remember the movie Screamers (and the Philip K Dick book Second Variety, on which it was based)
In the movie the robots that we trying to wipe out humanity were called SWORDs.
Maybe Bush really wants to wipe out all those annoying voters who are messing up his approval ratings....
The funny thing is that the PS3 is actually going to be MUCH more expensive, prob twice as much, at least.
So these consoles are approaching the price of nice laptop or tower PC, why doesnt everyone migrate back over to Zion (aka the PC gaming realm?!)
To tell the truth, I had about four pints of wicked strength lager before typing that comment, I am terribly sorry for making the unforgivable mistake of angering the grammar Nazis!
I am a christian and a scientist, one who does not find the belief in a cunctipotent deity incompatible with understanding and accepting scientific discoveries,
To tell the truth more I learn about cosmology (singularities, string theory, the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principal, and other crazy ideas) and evolution the more my belief in God is reinforced.
To me the individuals who hinder scientific progress in the name of God are reserving a place for themselves in the afterlife (by which I mean, a not very nice one! or maybe they will come back as a worm in the next life!)
Talk about lawsuit happy...can there really be that much money in song lyrics and sheet music?!?
Reminds me of that South Park episode, "Now Britney wont be able to buy her third caribbean island, all because of you evil children and your selfish downloading of music!"
I am absolutely certain there is a special ring of hell reserved for these RIAA goons and their SCO-like tactics.
This is actually a really good idea in one specific context.
If they use it to determine who gets the greater scrutiny in searches (thereby avoiding dangerous profiling) and make it unobtrusive (a microphone in the attendants uniform when he asks if you have packed your bags..etc.) this could be a boon to airport security.
Coloured bubbles....reminds me of the Red Dwarf episode where they invented Tension Sheets, which were just packing bubbles coloured red, and they made billions off of it....
As an intelligent Christian I find these fundamentalists to be annoying and damaging to the reputation of christianity.
Intelligent design is illogical and unneccessary, as the ed said, the Genesis story is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY! (Unless you genuinely believe that women are created out of a rib, somehow)
Please fundamentalists, stop damaging everyone else who is actually able to accept the scientific logical explanation for life on this planet and still believe that the idea of an cunctipotent entity that follows more the strands of deistic tradition ( a la Benjamin Franklin) is possible.
Although it seems that the company has created an interesting linux based device, from reading some of the linked pages it seems it has a few flaws. The foremost being that the company isn't fully embracing the open source nature of the devices operating system. Apparently they have chosen to make it more difficult to develop for the unit by encrypting their firmware updates. Even worse, until they were asked to, they neglected to make the GPL and LGPL licensed software they used in their device available.
Well Firefly is actually a good show, and BSG is amazing.
My problem is with that horrendous Star Trek show (regardless of the incarnation), I have never been able to sit through a few minutes of that show, every episode is either
1. Oh no the "Holodeck" broke again (for the 100+ time), lets see all the characters wearing period costumes run around for a bit, regardless of the fact that Holograms would lack any physical substance.
2. Oh no, we accidently went back in time somehow (for the 100+ time) lets see all the people in period costumes run around for a bit.
3. Oh no we landed on a primitive planet (for the 100+ time) lets see all the people in period costumes run around for a bit.
I wouldnt classify avatar and morph as "science fiction" words persay. Rather it might be more logical to classify them as "scientific" or "technological", because they are not just used in fiction but rather in everyday speech to refer to real things...
As a game programmer and developer http://igerard.com, I have worked with a number of systems that scale to the specs of the system. Most recently I have worked with the Torque Engine, which has some scaling capability, and with my own engines (although they usually dont require so much processing power).
As a gamer, I have always had a laptop, as I move around so much, and I am very impressed by the scaling capability I have seen in recent games (Medal of Honor: Call of Duty, Morrowind) which have worked fine on my meager 32mb Mobility Radeon graphics card)
It sounds like a pretty good idea to me, but there seems to be one mistake in the post, I am pretty sure that they would go ahead and clear the music to be downloaded legally via iTunes or something like that, rather than illegally via P2P, and thus avoid any "John Doe" lawsuits.
It appears that the same rib, in episode 34FGE, struck twice in row creates two different notes...are we supposed to believe this is some sort of magical rib!??!

This is only remotely related, but here we go anyway.

Has anyone else seen this sort of thing?

I suppose the cheap looking pseudo-medieval outfits they endlessly recycle on SG1 are infinitely superior.

He states specifically in the "guide" that projection screens increase the quality of the image significantly.
