Sure, it's not exactly "conference" software, but if each person runs it, any other people can view the stream. And it's free, if you just want to give it a try.
Let's take things a step further: I don't believe in ownership. How about it? I just don't. I can't help it. My behavior doesn't reflect my beliefs, though, because I don't want to be in jail right now. So much for civil disobedience.
I actually used to do this with my friends as a kid... we'd set up a bunch of chairs in a row, and get a little cart with plastic wrapped trays for meals.
For the cockpit, the Apple IIe would run whatever weird "simulation" menu things I would make up in BASIC, and the best part: a set of 3 sliding dimmer switches in a housing my dad made up for me, connected to 3 shop vacs. Instant jet!
I believe they quoted 35 dB in the keynote.. correct me if I'm wrong... I just remember not being impressed. Ambient room noise for me tends to be around 30 dB or so. Thus, under 30 dB is "silent." However, for many people, with music playing and whatnot, 35 dB is probably going to be fine.

in a good way... heh.

Along the lines of poor design... the keyboard tray is physically centered with the display. Unfortunately, the useable center of the keyboard is not the physical center; the numeric keypad offsets everything. The useable middle of a keyboard is between the G and H keys.
I live in apartment 35-105, and my friends live in 36-105 and 33-105. I get their mail constantly. If the mail could simply be addressed to the person it would get to the right place! (I hope).
I was trying to get some work done with my group over IM in the lab - but the admin made me close it and told me that the lab isn't for chatting. I tried to argue but he threatened to kick me out. It's okay though, 'cause he was wearing a penguin shirt, even though none of the computers run a linux distro.
I'm glad I payed $4000 tuition this summer to not be able to get my work done. It's great. Really.
I know many web sites have a video available in multiple formats; i.e. real, mp4, and sorenson, or whatever.
I'd like something that takes the different streams and assembles for me a high res final product, based on the idea that there are going to be different details available in each compression scheme... does this make sense? Does it sound like a reasonable idea?
if I had to start at Square One in solving all situations, I could never get anything done... so I must use previous inputs to the system to guide any new experience
This works assuming you value "getting stuff done." Newsflash: not everyone embraces this value. Hey, I think I'm one of them.
I was visiting my friend and his new kitten and we were both playing with him, sniffling away... it was kind of rediculous! He took his allergy pill a little late, and I don't really take them, I just deal with the effects when I'm around pets. I would sure like an allergen-free kitten.
In the "modern" category, I'm afraid Dave Holland carries the torch.
His work with his quintet is really amazing- some of the finest ensemble playing anytime, by any standard. The style his group has developed is really wonderful; heavy on improvisation and eastern influences. Billy Kilson takes the drums from a "groove" role to the front of the ensemble - taking on almost melodic roles. Generally, there are multiple solos going on at any time. Even the written music sounds improvised.
This is some of the most wonderful, euphoric recording... really great. My favorite recordings of anything, ever.
In my mind, visual and audio communication is no worse than written communication. They have their differences, but the main issue is: it's communication. As long as you believe that anything beyond you exists, communication is pretty cool, no matter what form it takes. (If you're like me, however, you'll find yourself a skeptic...)
Anyway, when's the SAT going to start scoring visual-audio communications? Hello and welcome to 2003.
A great place for that audio gear is, you know, right in the top middle of the display. That way, if I plug something into it, like headphones, the cable hangs right down the middle of the.. oh wait.. maybe this is not a good idea.
So THAT's why apple puts the audio connectors on the side/bottom of the machines! Ingenious!
Some posters have expressed that working when you want is liberating. At the same time, it can be overly consuming for a perfectionist.
I have a class that meets 2 hours in person each week; the 3rd hour that we get credit for is done using online group discussions. The nice thing about class is when I'm there, I participate, and when I leave, I'm done - it's out of my mind. But the discussions online never end; I am always replying to something or someone; it never ends. It never closes. It's very stressful. I think about revisions and new things to say all the time. It's overly consuming for me! I would not do this again!
It seems that warnings that are false should not be used; if most warnings do not mean anything, then people will become indifferent to warnings.
I was just looking over one of my favorite model train manufacturer's web page and found a mention that the Proposition 65 warning is nearly moot.
At any rate, warnings don't seem to have hindered alcohol consumption or smoking...

Of course, windows only...

It's been done.. usb floppy raid!
I have to mention Sudbury schools. I first heard about it on /. and it sounds like something you might be interested in.
Also, John Gatto has some good ideas about contemporary schooling and its problems.
This sounds great.

And, who hires the auditors? Hrm...
www.whatisthedemoscene.com ... just kidding.
Anyway, I purused a few urls and, I still have no idea what the "demo scene" is. Could anyone explain?
This is not a troll.. serious question. I'm just curious.
The constitution is a bit of a .. well.. an untruth.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
Try being a mid-easterner after 9/11!
or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;
Try saying that you want to kill the present some time, and mean it. See what happens.
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
As long as you have a government sanctioned permit.
and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Now, don't go being unpatriotic! You're with us, right?

and probably the business of many. Why not just have a poll with at least the top 12 designs? Many people would vote honestly.
My favorites...
1. Sandler
2. Emens
3. Topoleski
in that order!
and isn't it a strange coincidence that the governor of Florida is W's cousin? hrmmm
This might be a slightly related note -

Seen star wars lately? It's an example of terrorism "from the pro side."
It's very easy.
The processors will continue from G5 to G9, and eventually to G9.2. The next processor after that will be GX 10.0.
Got it?
