Chrome has many extensions and yes Adblock. However Adblock only removes the display of ads. It does not prevent downloading of the ad. So you may not see the ad, but it is still downloading, eating bandwidth and making money for whoever has ads on their site.
Firefox adblock is far better.
But I do like Chrome. Its fast, and the ui is nice.
I make good use of the sync bookmark feature. I like it.
Exactly right. This is not about your privacy... Its about Google protecting their market from say Verizon who could be packet sniffing anything you search on Google, and then selling that data... which then competes with Google.
Google is simply protecting their business. It has nothing to do with user rights or privacy.
But it is a welcomed addition. Its certainly a good thing... but it is also more for Google, than for you.
You simply cant download bluray bitrate files in realtime for viewing. Most blu-rays video streams are 40GB in size, which a very high bitrate.
The HD movies that get streamed on TV, Netflix, Video On Demand, Xbox Live, etc.. are all very low bitrate, and much smaller file sizes because they compress their videos heavily.
they compress them so heavily that fast motion scenes break down the image quality severely, often obscuring the actually action on screen. Often you can see "floating" peices in the motion in even low motion scenes, as the compression is so low.
See the thing about digital delivery of videos, you're at the mercy of the providers bandwidth usage cost. They dont want to spend the money for the bandwidtht o provide you a video on par with a bluray. And its not just the provider... Its your own broadband services etc. Theres a lot of "business" that gets in the way of image quality. On sattalites, its lack of bandwidth on the sattelites themselves... All Sat TV providers and cable providers compress some channels more than others to squeeze in all of their channels into their bandwidth. Now what also happens is the channels that provide them that video... ALSO compress their video to meet their own bandwidth limitations...
You're getting a compressed image that will never be on par with a blu-ray.
Digital Distribution of video sucks. As of now, now service, be it cable, satellite, netflix, etc can deliver anywhere near the same quality of video as on a bluray disc. They all decompress their movies into very low bitrates that do not hold up well under fast motion, and are barely passable with low motion.
I will ALWAYS opt for the Blu-Ray disc. If I want to own a movie... I want the highest bitrate possible, so that the video quality is what it should be.
While I agree with Ryan tate's position... I agree that he did come off as a bit of an internet asshole. But He was still in the right, point wise.
Jobs looked more like an ass when he whipped out the "Well what have you ever done?" bullshit.
Steve, he married his wife, found love, works a good job that deals with stuff he enjoys... He's lived a satifying life like most people try, and while it will never be as castle in the sky as Steve's god like status... Its humble, its real, and just as important.
Jobs just looked like a big baby with that comment.
Nvidia has been incredible for the consumer for a long time now.
I would like to see their quadro products come down in price though. They are ridiculously overpriced.
I disagree. Intel has been destroying AMD these past 4 years.
AMD's 64bit instruction set, and athlons were a huge improvement where Intel had failed...
But now.. Intel's chips are faster, and AMD has been playing catch up. For a while there AMD didnt have an answer for intel's core line of cpus.
Now they do, and they're slightly cheaper than intel but they do not perform as fast as intel.
Cpu's have never been fast enough :) My Quad Core could be a dual 8 core.. and I'm still at the mercy of the CPU while rendering.
Anyone doing music production at home, or professional, or 3d graphics at home or professional... or photoshop work at home or.. well you get it.
CPU is and will always be a factor. That son of a bitch is never fast enough for me :)
She may be a beaten up old 1985 Ford F-350... but she's the only Ford that we have of her kind.
This is the end of an era and more evidence of the ever increasing downfall of our country.
enjoy working 2 jobs to pay your bills... if you can find one. If you're married... thats 4 jobs. get to work.
Only Apple could convince the industry that limiting features is a good idea.

You failed to listen to your own advice then.

It works both ways, but it doesn't help the user financially... It helps google.
So its really for Google
Most people today probably enter search through their address bars...
That doesnt appear to go through SSL... yet at least.

If we let Blu-Ray die, then we're all fools.

Agreed. Keep usenet alive! ...so we can all say what we want, without being banned by a lame moderator.
And while you're at it, lets see if we can get Steve Jobs to jerk off once on his iPad.
No one will die, if Wiki has a few porn images.
Fox News, Cheerleaded an illegal war that resulted in over a million + dead.
