There's a lot of really killer comics. Only a few though I'd put up with Carlin, Pryor and Hicks... I'd say Louis C.K. is earning that honor by the second.
Here's a fact. The police will find ANYTHING to arrest and charge you if they feel they want to.
There are so many laws, and they know them more than us... and they have an army that will back them up no matter what, even when they're lying.
Not to to say that all cops are evil. They're not. But they do stick together, and soemtimes they stick together for what they think is the right reason... but they do it in wrong ways.
This is why privacy is important. Once the system has its eye on you.... you can easily become a victim of the system because they have too much power as it is.
I could easily buy a Mac right now... I chose not to because I use many applications that are not on the Mac.

Its about time we put to bed the anti microsoft garbage. It's just not fair anymore. It was valid at one point, but to let Apple get away with things Microsoft istn even doing, and then call Microsoft a "monopoly" or a "forced OS"... is just silly.

Well they all have an interest in locking the user down. We must fight against that for our own interest as users.
Unfortunately that locking down, also has a positive side which is a "complete experience" or "Toaster effect"...
But we also know it locks out freedom of choice, progressive technology ideas etc.
I've been argueing with people on/. and other sites who defend Apple's practices while also saying Microsoft would be wrong to do what Apple does. Its a double standard that i've been hammering on when I can.
I usually run into defenders of Apple who say "Microsoft is a monopoly" and I challenge them on that because OSX and Windows runs on the very same hardware, however Apple strictly controls the hardware OSX can run on. Imagine if Microsoft suddenly did that:)
There are many other examples.. itunes, safari, searchlight, sneaky safari installs via itunes updates on windows... Imail, Ichat... Where windows cant even ship an email program with their os now in fear of being raped by the EU and US courts.
Anyways...
I just want to see the double standard erased and I'm for allowing Microsoft to be more Apple like... but with a more open freedom approach. If thats possible...
I think Apple benefits heavily from its strict closed dictatorship. Its what makes their products appealing to many from ui, to function...

I think because they are attractive products... They run well, but you pay a high price for that... not only in dollars but in freedom.
It's all PC hardware. Windows 7 is pretty good but if Microsoft was allowed to get away with what Apple does... Windows would be far better. Of course we'd pay the price of freedom.
Perhaps theres a happy middle ground somewhere. But I think Microsoft should be allowed to play the same game as Apple, minus the controlling dictatorship.

Apple is far more controlling than Microsoft these days.
But we all let Apple get away with murder.

I'm sure they wouldnt have removed it, if the PS3 had actually sold well. Unfortuantely it was terrible for 2 years. Sony lost a too much money on the damn thing.
I disagree. I think the time for 3D glasses are now. I wear a comfortable over the ear high quality headset with a mic while i play Modern Warfare 2 on the PC... So why not throw 3D glasses into the mix? Hell make it a nice headset where the glasses slide up and down like a visor. I dont care.

So headgear really isnt a problem. Many of us are already wearing headphones and mics.
And Most PS3 games arent even 720p. Many of the graphically intense ones run at a odd resolutions that are scaled to 720p.
There are very few if any 1080p PS3 games. The GPU really cant handle it.
But looking at God of War 3... they have finally managed to pull off a nice post processing anti aliasing filter that really improves image quality at 720p. It looks like 4xFSAA but has absolutely no impact on framerate.
If they can pull that off... They might be able to pull of 3D:)
The fighting in ICO wasnt designed to be God of War... It was specifically designed to attach you to "Yorda". The fights all center around a single problem, and that is they're taking her away and you must physically pull her out of the black hole. This is a very intelligent gameplay element designed to bond you to her, so that the ending was as effective as it was.
Its not a game about fighting... its a game about experiencing the unknown, loneliness, and loss...
That was not missed by me. A big part of the story was the selfish killing of the colossi. I think that part worked very well. I think the game was incredible dont get me wrong.
And yes ICO did not work on everyone but judging from the huge amount of vocal people such as myself... the game moved people to levels unseen in gaming before it.
Shadow of the Colossus, was also incredible but it did not have the emotional impact of ICO. However Shadow of the Colossus remains one of the most visually epic games to date, with a very insightful story... it misses the mark a bit but its there if you break it all down. Its an incredible game.

For me it was gradual. When I killed the first colossi I thought "why do i have to do this, what have they done"
After 6 or so, i started to think "What if i'm just killing innocent creatures... and i'm being tricked by the spirit thing in the temple"
