I second this, moonbase commander is alot of fun and I saw it in the bargain bin at gamestop just a few days ago. Anyone know of there's any open source or web based remakes of moonbase commander around?
An excellent program if you're into printing manuals yourself is http://www.fineprint.com/products/fineprint/index. html It is a virtual printer that allows some cool options. My favorite being the ability to fit multiple pages onto a sheet thereby saving time, ink and paper.
Here's a list of the feature from the website:
Print Preview: Universal print preview with editing capability. Easily add blank pages, delete pages, and re-sequence jobs.
Ink Saver: Provides options to convert colored text to black and skip graphics.
Multiple Pages on a single sheet: Print 2, 4 or 8 pages on a single sheet of paper.
Watermarks Headers and Footers: Watermark, header and footer option allows documents to be marked with the date, time, system variables or custom text.
Forms and Letterheads: Allows the simplified creation of electronic forms and letterhead. The preview feature shows how output will appear before you print it to ensure correct alignment.
Combine Print Jobs: Allows multiple documents to be combined together as a single print job. This is useful for creating booklets based on web pages, etc.
File saving: Save pages and jobs to TIFF, JPEG, BMP, text and FP formats.
Clipboard Support: Any printed output can be copied to the clipboard in text, bitmap or
Double Sided Printing Support: Booklet making and double sided printing are supported with all documents and printers. Booklets create a professional touch to all documents and are easy to read and carry. Double sided printing cuts paper use in half and reduces travel weight.
Paper Scaling: Allows large pages to be scaled to that they fit on standard paper sizes such as letter or A4.
Adjustable Margins: Margin adjustment allows for increased text sizes for better readability, by using more of the printable area on the page.
Gutter Support: Gutter capability provides space for binding documents.
Multiple FinePrinters: Multiple FinePrinters can be created. This allows the creation of "virtual printers" that have different pre-defined settings. For example, you could have a "booklet printer" that automatically prints a booklet or a "letterhead printer" that prints on your letterhead without the FinePrint dialog box appearing.
Easy server deployment: Install on a server as a shared printer for easy group or enterprise deployment.
Zerglings are a race in the game Starcraft (by Blizzard) The predominant strategy in playing them (in simplified terms) is to make a shitload of them and send them against your opponents. Hence the terms 'Zerg' or 'Zerging'
Alot of the Everquest beta people came from Meridian 59 from what I remember. I haven't gotten around to trying it out at the time, this seems like a good opportunity to check it out.
since when can a game like this not be online - coop?
The PC version of Doom 3 didn't have co-op presumably due to the complexity. Interestingly, the xbox version of doom3 will have co-op play, although I'm not sure if it will be xbox live or just split screen play. In fact, the conversion to co-op is what is said to be causing the delay of the xbox version. I'm not a game developer, but the lack of co-op titles and the dropping of co-op play from Doom 3 and Halo 2 leads me to believe that there are significant problems in making it a good experience in the newer FPS games.
Supercat is fast, windows only and I've had good results with it. It can also catalog cds and dvds which is helpful for that stack of unlabeled cd's sitting next to your monitor. I sometimes use it to catalog and index mapped network drives as well. (good for finding stashes of mp3s and "pr0n" on your network!)
If you have a mod chip, you can put a bunch of your own files on there. I know a guy who has movies, mp3s and tons of emulators including genesis, snes, nes, gameboy and mame on his xbox. Although it's possible to access the roms via samba over the network but it's alot faster to scan through thousands of roms on the local hard drive.
I deal with the documents in the article and it's a big deal to those involved. There are standards and they are expected to be adhered to. I've seen documents thrown out or sent back due to the font and font sizing used! This change is also going to cause a problem in larger documents in which items are commonly referred to by page number. The new printouts of older documents will have different page numbers and this may cause a headache for those that refer to them in that way. This is especially prevalent in the judicial system.
He did what anyone would do if they hacked into Fermilab and got access to large amounts of diskspace and a fat('phat') pipe:
Pr0n and warez!!!
He was probably running an IRC server on there too with 'sweet virtual hostnames'
This guy has been around for a while and he really knows his stuff. There's always going to be conflict among casual gamers, hardcore gamers, role players and the developers. If anyone has the experience and is qualified to at least make an educated ATTEMPT to resolve those conflicts it's Raph. For a better understanding of the guy check out his page . In particular, click the gaming link and read some of his essays.

I just got through playing with the demos on the site and it works pretty good. Give it a try on the excellent emulator Visual Boy
Advance. Seems like the official emulator site is down, but you can get the latest visualboy emu here
"The possibilities are endless, and since both spoof issues appear to be unfixable, it must surely place a big question mark over Explorer's viability as a browser."
They claim that this bug appears to be unfixable while not really providing evidence to support the claim other than implying that if it was indeed fixable Microsoft would have fixed it already.
Is this just FUD? For the love of god I'm sick of patching. Thankfully we are using Microsoft Software Update Services which I highly recommend for automating your MS patching needs. (Hey it's free and works)
Anyone running 2.6 in a heavy load environment? Specfically, a database such as oracle/informix/db2 in a large data warehousing or OLTP environment. I've had above average performance and reliability with 2.4 and although I don't see myself upgrading to 2.6 soon, I am pretty curious as to how things have developed.
Where oh where is a new version of Magic Carpet!

Sorry about the previous post and the lack of line breaks!

A lickable Virgin isn't all too bad, but the way that Apple feels in your hand is where the magic is.
For Christs sake, unless it has the friggin scroll wheel it's just another mp3 player! (And it must be lickable)
The REAL question is who would win in a street fight, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or Linus Torvalds.
But can it play halo? (or burnout 3!) :)

Man, the market was just begging for another fantasy mmorpg! *sarcasm*
Surely if the image's 'date taken' = 'your wedding day' thats a good clue that those are wedding pictures.
Slashdot needs more items like this! Reminds me of the pre-SCO days...

Does anyone know of any organizations that actually use SCO Unix?
