If Apple's marketshare doubled every year, they would take 5 years before becoming the dominant OS. That's a long time. It may not be for you, but for businesses it is.
No, they (the entertainment division) turned a profit because they back dated their $1B warantee into the last quarter, so this one looks much better. The next one will be bad again.
I'd be willing to bet Time Machine doesn't delete old copies. Otherwise, what's the point of having Time Machine? It's *supposed* to recover deleted files.
Well, they don't always use the terminology properly, and they definitely don't always do the science properly, so I'm not sure it's REAL science. They may use the scientific method, but they're not very good at coming up with & properly testing hypotheses.
How about callling their version pop-science? That's about as close as I'll come to calling it science.
Microsoft doesn't want to piss off a bunch of users by fixing a security flaw that will effectively break a lot of stupid apps that were also not written properly. I don't know why, but that cracks me up. Not arguing with you at all, but it is funny that MS cares more about the apps than security. And it explains a lot of their issues.
the appalling 'Open "safe" files after downloading' feature in Safari. Seriously? This is one of your 'real' security holes? This one comes turned off by default AND HAS A CHECKBOX IF YOU WANT TO TURN IT OFF.

How about putting all the e-books/pdfs on iTunes? Apple makes money the same way they do on the music side.
There's already a pdf reader built into the iPhone/iPodTouch.
Hey, $640k is enough for me!!!
How about
'Dvork'
'Dveeb'
'Dvumb'
'Dvick'
or just simply
Dvorak?
Your timeframe is different than mine.

And there still aren't any viruses on the Mac, in the wild.
So the page is still correct, even today.
Trojan, that requires the admin password.
Your point(s) are why I said the iPod was (one reason) for the record sales in their recent quarter.
No, the PC OEMs didn't do as well.
I don't have exact numbers but for the last year, PC sales up ~14%. Mac sales up ~35%.
Is that a doughnut?
It actually did. That's (one reason) why Apple set record sales for computers this last quarter. And expect to beat it next quarter.
Or even cats!
Here's the second link. I guess it pays to preview.

This quarter was closed BEFORE the announcement this summer.

Supposedly, ZFS is read only in 10.5.0.
Well, we are :-)

It's simply http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schadenfreude.
As a previous poster said though. It's more financially favorable to Apple to release an open version.
Those 250k phones ~= $125M in sales which is much greater than the lost revenue ($118M*(250k/1.4M)) about $21M
However, then Apple doesn't control the experience and they don't look good to their business partner.
Or, from Apple's conference call YESTERDAY.

Ummmm, infinity is not a number, it's a word. Well, unless you put two lower case o's together...
+1 grammar number nazi!

Geez, get a test box already.
That way you can learn, find & complain about bugs, and test, all while not affecting your production machine.
I think this one is even better.
