Are the Mars explorers going to be allowed to use the Mars circadian rhythms or be forced to use Earth's? Why would the experiment try to do it half and half?
So what if you're off of earth time? Both astronauts and ground crew will have to live with that on the real trip.
Think of it more as a psychology experiment than a real space experiment. Maybe you won't be so testy then.
Of course, if it were a real psychology experiment, they should have at least lived on Mars time the whole time, and not just for a third of it. Makes you wonder why they stopped using Mars time...
True. For now, zeroConf is not passed on at the router. However, they are working on an implementation of zeroConf that does get passed across the router. Hopefully, they'll check more closely now on that version for buffer overflows before approving it.
You mean like selling ~500,000 units in a weekend?
Raking in (500,000x$550=) $275m in said weekend. Before costs, of course, but that's still probably enough to cover all the R&D and advertising for the iPhone.
Why should I have to work to protect my browser? Or my computer while just *going* to a web site.
There's such a huge jump in logic there that it just befuddles me that 'configuring properly' is required to use the internet.
No computer/browser is perfect, but it just makes basic sense to use a computer/browser that starts at a very secure state and allows you to open it up if you want/need. Rather than the other way around.
<bad car analogy> It's like having to put rear view mirrors on your car after you buy it. </bad car analogy>
Screw citation, I want an example!
Frankly, then, that seems awfully short sighted.

Don't these numbers really depend on which 18 months?
If you start with a month that has 31 days, you may get an extra day. If you start with a month that has 30, 29 or 28 days, then you may lose a day.
Then, all your numbers will be all screwed up!
Of course, I'm just guessing here. I'll be that some calendar nazi will correct us both.

Unkillable may be a bit extreme.
Cmd-w on a Mac to close the window
Alf-F4 on a PC to close the window
Either works just fine.
So not quite unkillable. Maybe just, ummm, a window?
I don't think you're putting one and one together there.

I really think this argument should be given a name, something along the lines of Godwin's law.
Perhaps Paterson's folly?
The 100million iPod owners don't seem to thing $59 for an iPod battery replacement is a big deal either.
