I checked on IMDB, there is not a single movie above 5.0 rating. In fact i think many of the reviewers are pissed at IMDB for not having a negative scale rating system, so they can push all his movies into bottom 100. I think its sorta having a striesand effect, i am curious to see one of his films now, before i review it on IMDB and fuck up all his ratings.

Netflix online movie selection is so fucking bad, that instead of painfully browsing through them i end up watching drm free movies on sites that link to stage6 (divx player is much better imo) since i do get

I am a recent graduate on OPT (optional practical traning) who was waiting for h1 and now is part of this "h1 lottery". Wtf? We just like any other american, went to the same school (here), took the same course, excelled and graduated along with other americans. How is this fair to us, who took the same path as any of you and we are not asking for citizenship, just the right to put into use the value of an "american degree and education". I work as a RF engineer and there are no RF enginner in and around the place that i work now. My company had to wait around a year to find the right candiate. After all this its come down to a lottery? I know more of you are bashing h1s, but can you imagine the stress for others like me who are already working here and waiting for the "lottery" to take place? I guess we just have to wait, like any other "lottery" and hope the winds of luck blows our way. pathetic :(

My other friends wanted to take the same class under him, when the news came out and he stopped teaching, we were all really shocked. I still remember the errie feeling i got when walking past his closed office doors. Man it really was something. I am glad that he is cleared of all the stuff that was put against him. Thanks Purdue!

  17. Re:most people can barely tell the difference on The Relevance of Windows · · Score: 0

"The biggest difference is in system management and software installation.Windows loses in that regard hands-down"...you mean to say windows WINS hands down. Have you tried installing stuff on some flavours of linux (i dont use mac, so i cant comment)? You mean to say that a average user will have the knowledage (or the patience) to download a tarball, untar, get the associated lib and all that shit to get something to work, just to find out, something else screwed up cause you installed this?? I think it is so much easier when you just double clik somespywaremaskedasaprogram.exe and click next and finish all the way and start using it while it sends out your personal info to some fat fcuk, for an average user than go through all the stuff associated with linux. And that is why windows is still relevant. As usual this is some attention starved fcuk writing some irrevalant shit about something that is only is relevant but also very prevalent.

The parent brings up some pretty good points. Not only is this a problem in software but also in harwdware where chip layout design, analysis, synthesis etc are also outsourced. These can also be sold to different companies at huge prices. I think the only pepole who are benifitting from this temperorily are high level execs in the west who are reaping the profits of cheap labour and fattened profits. Ironically they are also digging the grave for their own countries, by offshoring desing level jobs (already effects of this can be seen) and not fostering innovation locally. 20 years down the road, if we dont do something about this, things are going to turn upside down. Where do you even start with this when this is totally being accepted by both worlds, the outsouring and the outsourced?

If we just give a fuck about what is happening and only concentrate on the next new software realease, etc (belive me everything even in the tech world is shaped by what is happening around the world), the terrorists win, both the internal and the external.
