  1. Re:Let the B*tching Begin on World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Confirmed · · Score: 1

No, its not. The purpose of an MMORPG is to play a fantasy based game in an MMO environment. EQ brought the idea of progression being everything, before that Ultima and its ilk had very little progression.

Actually Ultima had quite a bit of progression only it wasn't in the levels we now know. Then it was fight more to get better strength so that you can fight better people, and be more powerful than the PK's. Or it was cast spells to get better intelligence so that you can cast higher level spells. It was always about progression. They just did it a different way so you weren't worried about your next level.

This follows Microsoft's new basic assertion that the computer and all its data belongs to Microsoft in the first place, therefore calling it "My Computer" is technically (and possibly legally) incorrect.

They were going to call it "Our Computer", but decided against it on the grounds that users might think they were sharing something, and didn't want there to be any confusion. Microsoft doesn't share anything.

(For the humorless: This is a joke. But it's funny because you know how close to the truth it is. Or maybe it's scary for the same reason.)

Or at least it would have been funny if it wasn't what basically every other comment to this article said

  5. Revisionist History on Newest Star Wars Reviews Suprisingly Positive · · Score: 1
There is an interview with Lucas here: http://www.freep.com/news/latestnews/pm3907_200504 26.htm in which he describes the story behind the story.

Gee there's a surprise, a guy who is a master at revisionist history, see all the bastardizations of the original trilogy, had an interview in 2005 that's contrary to what was said in an interview in the late 90's. Of course he says now that there was never any story post ROTJ, it suits his life better to not have further story.

When he first announced that he was doing Ep's 1, 2, 3 it suited his life at the time to also say he was planning 7, 8, and 9.

Why should it surprise anyone that he now says there's no story past ROTJ. It's not like he hasn't changed his story before. After all just ask my posts Great Great Great Grandparent

Sega's last college football game was College Football 2k3 which came out during the 2002 season. They hadn't made a football game for the 2003, or 2004 campaign, and prior to this announcement there didn't seem to be any news regarding desire for the 2k series to reprise it's College game for 2005. Now unfortunately they have no chance.
