With windows being closed source bugs are hard to find. With Open source bugs are found quickly and repaired. But now that windows has been leaked there can be hundreds of bugs in the code that we couldn't find before when it was closed. Current companys should be worried about the security of their systems running windows, as M$ arnt going to be able to repair everything and get the patches out before major virus' come out. This just shows that opening the source up to everyone provides better security. Oh well, thats all i've to say.
For mpegs (including.mp3's) you can change the ID3 tag to what album, track, artist, comment, year and genre the song is. Only thing needed now is a decent way to view that information and filter through it.

Only drawback I can see is that the same arguments could be made against linux, ie. We are trying to monopolise the third world, so we can get even with a company that has done wrong in the past (and still is.[anti-trust case's])

What don't you understand in that sentance??? I've had 2HDD's F themselves under windows and a graphics card. And also, having large quantities of crap pointless applications running in the background in windows limits the functionality of your hardware.

If you were a hardware maker. Wouldn'y you make sure your hardware works on the most widely used OS in the world?? It wont work properly though or too its full potential due to windows being so screwed up. I can see software companys like redhat, SuSE, etc.. selling computers with linux on them as a way of earning money, seen as they want linux to be free (fedora at least).
Isn't IPod going to allow WMA on it?? Wont that be good for microsofts "music download service" thats coming out soon? I presume they'll only offer wma audio?
Water wont pass from solid (ice) to gas (steam) without first going through liquid state. What you probley mean is that the temperature rise could be massive.
Thereby for the water to change to gas from ice in 1second the heat supplied in that second has to be 100times the specific heat capacity of the water and its mass when at 0C to make it "boil" and turn to steam:>.
