I don't see how, you can still do everything you can do with a 3G connection if you have an EDGE connection, you just do it slower, I've watched YouTube Videos over EDGE, never tried to do anything more bandwidth intensive than that but I know it all works.
They were originally much more misleading, they did not include the voice and data service are available outside the 3G coverage area and also stated that an AT&T user without 3G coverage was "out of touch"
I don't use (or like) either but I think that AT&T is marginally more in the right here, for all that the VZW ads are pretty clever they are definitely misleading, even in their current form.
I've lived in the L.A. area nearly my whole life so I've had my fair share of experience with traffic.
I can see where some rude behavior could reduce congestion, but a whole lot of the activities that rude drivers engage in wreaks havoc. One of the biggest issues is people who wait till the last possible minute to merge at an interchange or onramp, they will invariably end up slowing down a non-merging lane dramatically while they attempt to force their way in to the merging lane, while the merging lane is disrupted causing it to slow further. I regularly see people get out of a lane of traffic to drive the last few hundred feet of an onramp before forcing their way in 2-3 carlengths ahead of where they were.
Other rude behaviors which significantly increase congestion include driving slowly (often below the speed limit) in the left lane (or any lane but the right) and turning into the wrong lane (i.e.turn right into the left lane)
Plus as a general rule the vehicles that have poorer fuel economy cause more wear and tear on the roads, the same goes with people who drive inefficiently (especially hard starts and stops).
The idea that the person who drives the Honda Fit should pay the same in road taxes as the person who drives a full sized SUV is absurd.
No doubt, I think they are treating anything related to this as part of the 4chan attacks, after all it's common knowledge that there are OVER 9000 of them (lame I know).
They are not doing themselves any favors and are in fact only encouraging the attackers and causing more people to believe the conspiracy theories (I'm sure that epic lulz or win or something).
Symantec should at a minimum have a stickied/locked post that explains what's going on so that innocent (if gullible) people don't keep getting their threads deleted for asking about it.
For people with big hands a touch screen keyboard (at least Apple's implementation of it) is pretty much unusable. Even if you are very accurate with your key presses you fingers will frequently hit another key. When I've used an iPhone I had to resort to typing with my pinky which is pretty awkward.
A well designed physical keyboard (IMO the G1 has one) even if the keys are smaller you can still put the pressure on the key you want to press and it and only it will be pressed. Other physical keyboards, such as those on the Pantech Duo they keys are too flat and they aren't any better than a virtual keyboard.
Never played WoW or any other MMORPG for that matter, but I thought the point of these kinds of bots was to grind for you, to do the tedious things that have to be done to level up (something I am familiar with as I recently started playing Oblivion) so you can spend your game time doing the more interesting things.
Obviously Blizzard doesn't like this because they want you to pay for your monthly account for several months while you grind and occasionally do interesting things, rather than level up quickly (from a real life time line perspective) and spend less time doing more fun things.
Best Buy used to be a great store but they have been in a steady decline for years, with a smaller selection, higher prices and crappy return policies.
Now with Circuit City gone they have ZERO direct competition in the B&M space, they will be able to raise prices and cut service even further.
Sure you can (and I do) buy many things online but obviously you can't get anything same-day and bulky items such as TVs or appliances aren't always practical (I can't imagine trying to return a defective TV by freight).
CC was great because when you needed something same day it was quick and easy to order something online and pick it up in the store. I guess not enough people agreed with me though.
I have avoided Best Buy for a few years now, guess I have no choice but to go there now, I'll have to remember to bring lube when I go.:(
Once the studios have determined that Blu-Ray has reached sufficient market penetration, they will stop releasing new movies on DVD.
They did the same thing with VHS which is what ultimately killed it off (drove the final nails in the coffin) in the format, before that there were always a number of holdouts for whom VHS was "good enough"
With DVD they will try to kill it off sooner, primarily because DVD is relatively easy to copy and so they can start turning on image constraint for new releases.
Well the 2600 included a simple joystick, was it the Intellivision that came out with more of a control pad interface that was later improved? Did someone come up with analog controls before sony released it as an add-on for the PlayStation (PS1)? Changing the gameplay is important but it's not the end-all be-all.
We have a Wii and love it, we play it often, along with our Xbox 360 and PS2, The Wii is definitely "revolutionary" (pun intended) but other than introduce a new style of gameplay it's not really that groundbreaking.
The Wii without a doubt is the progenitor to what is to come, the Xbox 720 and the PS4 and the successor to the Wii (which will beat both of the aforementioned future consoles to market) will all take the successes of the Wii and add to it and improve upon it.
Without a doubt it's a pathfinder for the future but it is in much the same way that the original Xbox with a built in HDD and Ethernet paved the way for Xbox Live and eventually the explosive growth of online gaming.
Yeah it would be great to spend an hour or an evening with Patrick Stewart or Brent Spiner or Michael Dorn but after you've heard the interesting stories I think that would dry up rather quickly. Wil is a Dad (Step-Dads count), a geek, a gamer, he's close to my age (he's a tad younger), I have WAY more in common with him as I suspect is the case with a whole lotta/.ers.
I can't recall seeing anything in the past few months. In any case I think that with WW you have a combination of someone with a lot of recognition that many many of us used to hate but then found out that he was very much like us. If you have wronged someone it's nice to be extra nice to them later.
I suspect that if he had played a more mudane, more likable minor ST character (say Odo on DS9 or O'brien on TNG) he wouldn't be held in such high regard today.
That said, I really like his work and can't think of any other ST actor I'd more like to hang out with.
Not quite in either case, though it's fair to say that neither have seen the adoption rates that their respective creators expected or wanted. Furthermore a lack of adoption presents a real (though relatively small) threat to each's (is each's a word?) near-monopoly/de-facto standard (Windows in Desktop Operating Systems and GPL in Open Source Licenses)
In the end when the smoke clears I think that both will ultimately succeed (for better or for worse) but you will end up with a slightly larger percentage of Desktops running non-Microsoft operating systems and a slightly larger percentage of open source projects released under a non GPL license.
It's really hard to explain, the whole system is really seamlessly integrated so you can keep track of multiple games from multiple publishers, the social network aspect of it is more interesting/less annoying than I thought as well. It's nice that you have "friends" and that you can play with/against those friends on all the games that you both/all have. Of course it also doesn't hurt that Live is so pervasive in the entire Xbox (360 at least) environment.
Like I said, when we got the 360 I never would have thought I would have any interest in getting the $50 (or $40 from Newegg) live gold, but in reality I placed my order when I got the first reminder that my free 30 day membership was going to expire, and at the time we only had one game that had any online component to speak of (Burnout Revenge).
There are free alternatives to Xbox Live for the XBOX (such as XBConnect) but mostly I'm referring to other multiplayer gaming networks that existed for consoles and the PC that were typically set up on a per-game or maybe per-publisher basis.
Obviously Steam is a major success but it was developed and released at about the same time as Xbox live.
Can't speak for the games for Windows Live but on the XBOX new messages and notifications aren't too distracting while you are playing a game. I thought it would be much worse.
The free part is certainly a valid, perhaps a compelling motivator. Though on the XBOX side Live has been a pretty popular service even though there are free alternatives out there.
XBOX Live has been one of the more successful aspects of the entire XBOX franchise, personally I didn't "get it" myself until we got an Xbox 360 a few months ago and started playing with the free 30 day trial, now we have 2 paid XBOX Live memberships (one for me and one for my son), talk about some nice revenue for Microsoft.
One could see an increase in Live for Windows as potentially cannibalizing Xbox sales, as there could be fewer games out there that people might be willing to pony up $$$ for a console for.
On the other hand, if this get more people onto Live, it might get people wanting more and getting a console so they can play more games.
Personally, there aren't that many games out there now (or announced for that matter) that I would be compelled to buy, though as someone with an XBOX Live membership I might be more likely to buy a Live for Windows game knowing I can use my existing account.

IMO MGS4 will have about the same impact on console sales as Bioshock. In order to see a PS3 console seller like Halo 3 you will need to wait for GT5.

I suspect use of the term is more likely to provoke diatribes than to avoid them.

Dude you should have put a spoiler warning in there, I haven't seen any of them and now you have ruined them for me ;)
I still miss the OMG Ponies! layout.

I haven't used it but I'm pretty sure it only allows multiplayer gaming ala system link.
