Well After a day of getting used to the news. I Don't remember what all the fuss was about in my head yesterday.
Sure it's a big change, but what percentage actually cares what kind of proc there is in is mac, as long as it gets the job done and fast right? So as long as there wont be an intel inside sticker on a powerrmac i'm fine with it...
I do hope everyone will port their software pretty fast, but it isn't THAT much work, its not like porting top a new OS, it's all under the hood..
The way that I see it going is that TV will only be for the "premiere" of an episode and right after the broadcast you can watch it on demand, for maybe a small fee and without commercials for a handsome fee.
I bet Apple will get into this market, the question is how, with As Seen on TV denying a video ipod like a MS server denying service. so probably with the Airport express AV. It just might work.
Nobody wants to watch programs on a fixed time if they can get it from the internet whenever they want, so the TV stations have to come up with something special. Nobody knows what's on ESPN 8 "The Ocho" with 500 channels to choose from..

It's ridiculous that cards need to be cooled that way. It;s a way to have faster videocards without actually making a better GPU. just turn it up another nutch and use liquid nitrogen to cool it..
When your videocard starts leaking, don't mind the components being destroyed, but worry about a T1000 dripping out of your computer..

For Life (as in Michael jackson soon)? Until the service goes bankrupt? or you have to start paying for the subscription... call me tinfoiled, but there is nu such guerantee and besides, who wants to keep his apple script for life?
On the bright side, it is a nice service and it is free..

Mobile Cinema isn't going to work, I don't want to sound like Steve Jobs, but watching Jack Bauer say "Dammit" on a 4,5" screen is not quite as good as on a HDTV plasma(or something more modest), even though the screen is fabulous..
Ofcourse as a PornStation Portable it will do just fine..
Thats looks pretty useless...no easy access to controls and the comfort of a plastic stick to your ear blocking the headphones.. Looks like a great time waster though..

Nero is a fine piece of software and it's a good thing that a good app like that is coming to Linux. If you ever want Linux to make it big (as in desktop), which I doubt some people would want, because Linux would lose the "cult" status it has now,you need programs like this available on Linux.
Linux, if you want it to penetrate the home desktop, has to grow up, because let's be honest, KDE still looks like shit and it's the closest you get to a good GUI...
So now we are getting Thomas Kuhn into this? Then I say I am "against method" and think that scientists are to caught up in their own methods and that only those that are different really progress science, falsify that!

It really is an interesting theory and I also think it works that way, but I also think people are using it too often..

When I searched google to find info on Yahoo's funding of google,(I typed in "google yahoo") the first result I got was google.yahoo.com, wich is odd. The site doens't work by the way..
Anybody care to explain how that can be?

To be quite honest, I really think it looks worse. It looks like the bastard child of XP and OSX. it doesn't look original of innovative.
it looks a lot better than most linux interfaces, but itstill looks like one of those fictional interfaced that are used in "24" or something..
It just doesn't blow me aways when I see it, but maybe I'm spoiled because I use a mac...
