Horseshit. They're running this stuff under Rosetta (oooh, a web browser is snappy on a 3.6ghz processor!), which does NOT run Altivec code. Altivec-enabled apps on a G5 will undoubtedly stomp a native Intel app on one of these developer rigs. That, and this is Appleinsider, so take it with a grain of salt. These guys are way off the mark so often that it isn't even funny.

Hear hear! Alien Apocalypse sucked a hundred different kinds of ass. Bruce Campbell is nothing short of the man, but he was wasted on that. He only had one decent line throughout the whole flick. I watched that and thought, "Who in the hell writes this crap, and who the hell greenlights it?" I caught about fifteen minutes of the Shark Frenzy flick and felt nauseous. Poor Jeffery Combs. Once the Reanimator, now a shoddy B-Grade throwaway actor. That guy could be really creepy, but now he's getting watered down tripe. I seriously hope the Scifi starts cranking out some decent movies, or at least dumb B-Grade flicks that know they're stupid and have fun with it. Nothing is worse than a B-Grade turdburger that thinks it's an awesome movie.

I firmly believe that MS bought Virtual PC not just for this reason, but to keep it from getting too good. Connectix was on their way to adding hardware video acceleration support when they got swallowed up. Now MS is keeping it slow enough and featureless enough that if someone needs to use a PC, they'll find VPC too slow and perhaps wind up getting a physical Windows box.

Like it or not, those companies OWN that content, and they are selling it to you. If they don't want you to copy it, they have every right to put a copy protection scheme on it beforehand. That doesn't mean that the buyer wont eventually crack it, but they can put it there. Hey, let's all hop on the gravy train here. While we're at it, let's start bashing NDA's, EULAs, and anything else that puts any kind of restriction whatsoever on the use of media, because consumer freedom means being able to do anything you want!! Again, I'm no schill for the RIAA/MPAA stuffed suits. Those guys are a bunch of assholes. But they do have the right to try and protect their products, at least as far as copy protecting it with harmless DRM that wont damage any equipment/data. It did nothing to enhance the movie, and the bastard wouldn't even release the real OT again, calling it a "rough cut". Yeah, a rough cut that was a watershed moment in movie history. Lucas changed the industry forever nearly 30 years ago. Since then...nothing. The prequels were lousy, relying on tons of effects to tell the story rather than characters and plot. Nowhere near as good as the OT. Lucas lost it somewhere in his 15 year vacation. He's got no talent left. I doubt ROTS is going to beautifully tie it together, too, especially if the other two prequels are any indication.
