And there's only one in the uk (which myself and other people have joked about) It's in a semi blast resistant building. The security guards check your car (sometimes) on the way in and you have to go through security tubes to get in the main building, unless you have a load of large boxes that won't fit through then you can get security to open the lift for you.
I'm a self confessed couch potato. I used to love nothing more than sit around eating chips and playing on my playstation/pc/xbox however I got married. If I sit down for 5 minutes the wife appears and tells me to get off my ass and build a kitchen/decorate a room/paint the external of the house. This has had a knock on effect I can no longer sit in front of my pc for hours and play games (even when she isn't there). She's ruined my lack of a life.
I've just ordered a prius (It's going to take 3 months to arrive) And it will save me money I currently drive a tweaked mk3 crx and when I'm driving the gas mileage on that thing is terrible so when I get my prius I will be saving money and I can keep my crx for the race track (or weekends).
So anything better than about 25 mpg is great for me.
Yeah I've got to agree with you there My wife is more intelligent than me (iq tests) however she's an IT manager and I'm a network engineer. When she has a problem at work she always asks me how to fix it. However I know a lot more than she does about lots of things. And she always hits me when I make dumb manager jokes.
So who's the most intelligent ?
Ps she has a degree, I got kicked out for partying too much.
Yeah wasn't this supposed to og been sent to NTL ?
Those people who have now got a department called customer relations that you must talk too to get your ntl account cancelled.
Who are only open monday to friday 9 am to 5pm
No one else in their company can take cancellations from you.
And when you finaly get through and their computer systems are working to take your cancelation, they call you back trying to get you to keep the service.
Can I ask why you are leaving us. Because you give me a single dynamic ip address which is so blacklisted scientists think it's dark matter.
Then they call back and ask to speak to Mrs Flibble to try to get her to say we would like to keep the service.
But they can't compete with my new isp and the/29 I now have.
yeah we used to have that but they messed up with the new contracts they forced us to sign. If you read the small print in them I can give 1 weeks notice.
Well If people want in on this I have another scheme er business proposition I'll sell you this pack of information for $10 that you will be able to sell on to other people for $10 thus getting your money back on your initial purchase.
Am I the only one that thinks this looks like a pyramid scheme ?
Ahha so (in your last statement) your admit that you wouldn't pay for software for your pc. Therefore you would be a contributing factor to their losses.
To work out how much money the corporations are loosing
1. get how many pcs have been sold 2. subtract the number of windows os sold 3. multiply by the average cost of software on a pc 4. declare that you are loosing that much money to the world and have new laws passed to protect your business model from evil open sources os's
That reminds me of a customer ecommerce site orders were placed over a https connection to a webserver which then pgp enrcypted an email and sent it to the office for the order to be dispatched.
However it also kept a local copy unencrypted on the server.
And this was running a 5 year old version of linux with no updates run on it they didn't want to pay for maintenance or a rewrite of the site or the cost of a new server.
It was funny the amount of times they had to pay us to re own it. If they had just paid us to upgrade it it would of cost less.
Not to mention all the poor people who actually used it.
Well of course according to the uk data protection act all our electronic information was allowed out of the country with express written permission of ourselves and therefore we have only ourselves to blame.
What you mean it wasn't ? But isn't that illegal ?
If you look around they don't need to bring massive quantities of resources to build a moon base.
One example they can use a solar furnace to heat moonrock to form bricks (or large panels).
A perfect building material.
I'm sure if you apply a lot of the new building techniques up there you could get a nice little moonbase.
Also as far as the heavy lifting rocket goes some people have designed a nuclear rocket which has a lot more lifting power than the old saturn V's
And so the radio active core needs to be dumped after lift off well we could just dump the core on the moon (you can see where I'm going can't you?).
So we would have reusable launch modules with cargo bays a radiation dump and a moonbase built out of what appears to be concrete.
I learned a long time ago that you can get very depressed worrying about all the what ifs and the million to one shots.
So I started living by this philosophy.
Shit Happens, get over it.
I also stopped buying lottery tickets.
On our adsl connections we have a default port 25 blocking policy, however we will stop blocking port 25 for anyone that asks (and has a good reason ( a good enough reason is I am running my own mail server or I am using a different mailserver)).
However we still have a couple of people that have port 25 open and still get hit by trojans and proxies. It now costs them £250 to have their connection turned back on everytime.
Ok I have an abbey account and I recently needed to contact them regarding some information I required so I called them. A woman answered the phone and she was noticebly indian her accent was way to heavy anyway I conclude my business with her (only having to repeat myself a couple of times. I then did some checking aparently the credit card division had been sold to an american company who then outsourced the call centre to india. I had not been told about this by my bank. So without my express written permision they had exported my personal information to america who then exported it to india. So are they in breach of the eu data protection act or not ? I am pretty sure that the dataprotection act states that the data cannot be exported to a country that does not have a data protection act (ala india) but america does have one so that's okay however I don't think americas data protection type act has any such conditions in it so technically they haven't broken it.
My park flier cost me £30 and it's cool I keep it in the boot of my car (only plane that I have that will fit I should of chosen a bigger car but I like my little convertible) although it can only fly when there is virtually no wind.
Ah but do we not sue are claim damages off local goverment if a road is in disrepair and it damages our car ?
By the same analgy as you use I would be able to hold the car mfg responsible for driving my car at 100mph on a road that is flooded and going spinning of into the infield. (yes I did this and no I didn't sue anyone).
It was a combination of 3 stupid things the main one being the driver.
Social Engineering is a fun game to play.
In my job I have to go out to secure sites and do work. In the past I have asked these sites about access procedures to no avail.
So now it's fun to just go along and ask to get in unanounced. And if you know enough info they will let you in and give you the master keys for a multistory building.
Ocassionaly they'll make you sign in as well.
The main problem with repairing hubble is the fact that ther is no longer any shuttle capable of containing it in it's hold as all the remaining shuttles are equipped for docking with the iss.
so in order for the hubble to be repaired they would have to strip a shuttle so they can repair it (and lets not forget about taking along a spare set of solar panels.
we call it the sales department
In soviet russia The funds get split 50% russian mafia 50% Kilpper project

Unless of course we can trust the RIAA

Er also wouldn't you have a problem starting the computer It's a solid until it hits 58 C so the whole system goes upto 58 c or it jams
or you get the system running and the heat exchanger is a little to efficient and it gets cooled to 57 C oops jammed again.
without some serious electronics making sure the temp of the cooling medium remained at 58 C or above you would have problems.

Obligitory simpsons quote.
Can't. Stop. Doing. The Monkey.
Hmm I never knew this. I think I will give my bank a call and ask them why they have exported my data.
