Eh.... going from playing games to programming is a huge jump. If the kid has never played with anything (HTML, CSS, etc), then it's going to be like doing math for him/her and they will not enjoy it. Think of it as doing something fun... then shifting to something extremely boring/confusing... because that's what it's going to be to them. I LOVE gaming and I love coding.... but it's something that I personally love to do. As far as your kid, it's going to be difficult to force something you enjoy, or used to enjoy, onto them without a sense of direction. Now maybe, if you took it up again with your kid, showed him that in X many hours what kind of product you can make, they may become interested and actually want to take up learning it on their own.
Just a personal suggestion. Good luck!
Enough with putting this movie on hold... they need to sort out their dispute now. I mean, personally, I really want to see this movie... but aside from my interest, this movie will be a blockbuster and it will make a lot of money. They are retarded for letting it be put "on hold"... get over it and make this damn movie.
I'm currently still running Slackware 11, but I've been considering making the jump to 13 for quite some time. The only thing though, is the laptop I'm running 11 on has a 32 bit processor. My desktop, which is only meant for gaming, runs Win7 Ultimate x64 and I don't want to bother with dualbooting/virtual machine or just running it on that. We purchased a new Dell laptop which has a 64 bit CPU, but I don't think the wife wants touching it, ha. One of the biggest factors that I love about Slackware 13 is the way it works with 64 bit CPUs in the RISC architecture. Just by reading up on it, I think Windows could use a few tips from the way it micro-manages and multi-tasks applications. The way it handles CPU usage for an influx of applications open also is awesome, considering when I used Slackware 13 once, I had a ton of programs open. Now, Slackware with KDE... I don't know. My Slackware 11 was a base install, and I installed XWindows for GNOME separately.... just because I HATE the look and feel of the new GNOME. Anyhow, just throwing my opinion out there. If anyone loads 13.1 and has a good opinion about it, feel free to leave me a reply or send me a message.
Yeah. I mean, I think it's just time for SCO to quit... like six years ago. As I mentioned before, my "Anti-SCO" t-shirt I bought years ago is faded out. I don't understand how this case still has a single bit of grounds to it. It's over SCO. Die in a fire.
Is this an April Fools joke? But it's not the first? Hm. I basically read this like... "okay, I lost in court, but Judge, can you give me the copyright so I can win?" So pathetic.
My god... SCO. The anti-SCO t-shirt I bought years ago is falling apart... that's how old this shit is. An organized Project Mayhem needs to be set in motion to completely wipe these guys out seems like....
Considering Bioware ALREADY said they have announced all of the classes for the game, this was a dead giveaway (as though the name isn't) of an April Fool's joke. I know companies can change their minds, but still... nice one though. I'd love to see how the class hits the whole MMORPG class balancing system for the game. "LF1M SE for Tatooine run. PST!"
I just purchased a droid and I am looking into all of the things I can do -- the free apps, playing with the SDK, running a web & ftp server on the phone, etc. This project is by far one of the best projects I've seen and I can't wait until you have it available so I can put it on my phone. I'm a huge idSoftware and Quake 3 fan. Great work!
For something like this, I honestly don't like the idea of having one person behind it. What happens if he's murdered? I mean, if a group of professions honestly want to hack the U.S.... the poor son of a bitch who is the "Cyber Czar" is going to take a hit. Rather physical, such as being sniped or just having his shit hacked... he will be knocked out of the way.
I'd love to see the list of the 69 felonies he violated... because I'm sure more than half of them are repeats of another one. He deserves some type of prison sentence in my opinion... just not 30+ years. It's not like he killed anyone.
Search the Microsoft Support Forums. It's not really a "Problem" though, just the way Windows Vista is. All it takes is a right click and a left click on Change or Uninstall and you're all set. Since most programs in the Programs and Features area uses the software's built in uninstaller feature, it only can rely on that when it has to change that particular setting. No big deal.
As mentioned many times, it's a common problem. Microsoft normally recommend that you go through the software to uninstall anyhow -- such as Yahoo Messenger's uninstall utility (since it now loads down all of that extra stuff like toolbars, browser add-ons, anti-malware, etc). And if you right click on most anything in the Programs section, you can "Change" it to remove it or just uninstall it completely. I've never had a problem with uninstalling software so far.

I figured iPhone would already have Firefox's Fennac browser that the Droid has. It's a little slow, but nice.
KDE was just too flashy for me. I've always been a huge fan of GNOME. It's just a personal preference. Thanks.
I never touched the first one, but I loved the second one -- both single player and multiplayer. I'm looking forward to this, especially in 3D.
I know I spent a solid hour playing this... it's amazing to hear other people did as well. =P

I let it sit all night, went to frame 16, and had a dead pixel. No wait, frame 17 was trying to load non-progressively.

I agree with the author in this... doing this, would unbalance food chemistry as we know it. Horrible idea and it will never be passed.
Good thing I just slapped in that new 500GB hard drive to my PS3. w00t w00t.

I rate this funny and informational because your statement is a fact. They are more or less glorified cellphone in-house customer service reps.
ROFL.
World of WarCraft or his weekly Dungeons and Dragons campaign.

I couldn't have said this any better.

Who cares how many posts each thread has? I made a point.

Facts. Proof. Nuff said.
