  1. Sierra dead? on Top Ten Dying Game Genres · · Score: 4, Interesting

I love the Sierra strategy games. It always seems that their games come out and within two months the price has dropped to $10-$20. GameSpy claims in this article "...but now their days as a game developer are pretty much over." Is it really that bad? Am I the only one left that loves their new titles? Empire Earth anyone?

I would think that the marketing folks need to be technically competent so that they have the ability to understand how the customer is using the equipment and what features they need to have the engineers design in to the next line of products. I don't work in the telecom industry but the marketing dept where I work is very up to speed on our technology for that very reason.

The sales guys need to be technically competent so that they can convince the customer why they need to buy from Cisco and what features the customer could use and benefit from.

If you want to fight terrorism you can't wait until they try to step on a plane and hijack it. You can't wait until they drive up your street with a van full of anthrax. I am all for going in there and destroying all of this chemical/bilogical weapons and also his ability to produce any more. That's the reason we need to go in there with force.

There is a lot of hype that gets thrown our way to purchase particular music and software titles. The marketing drones try everything to convince us that something is great and that we must buy it. I say then that they should stand behind their product and offer a refund if it truly doesn't live up to your expectation. Would this get abused by some? Sure. Do I care? Not really. I have never played EQ but I was thinking of giving it a try. Is it going to be insanely difficult to start a new character with all the long-time players on the server?
