Just to get it out of the way, "The Xbox Controller is Huge!" Hopefully, the trolls won't have to use it now.
As far as Microsoft Japan, I think they should forget it. Japan continues to prove a difficult market for the Xbox, for numerous reasons (one being that the Japanese are hostile to American firms).
Microsoft should drop Japan. Their sales have been bad and I'm sure conversion costs for their games are quite expensive. Focus on North America first and grab as much market here as you can.
Don't you mean "release your old hits again and again on new platforms"? I can already see the dual-screen versions of Super Mario World, Link to the Past and Metroid.
We're now taking bets to see how quickly you get modded down by nintendo fanboys because "Nintendo offers the best games" "Nintendo is the most innovative company" "This super mario has extra levels, jerk" "The DS has two screens, which makes it twice as innovative" "etc"
When Sony comes out with GTA:San Andreas, they're rehashing. When Microsoft comes out with Halo 2, they're being unoriginal. When Nintendo comes out with Super Mario 18, they are on the cutting edge. Just a handy reference.
Now we're going to go to war with China. You see, it was spam that so aggravated Iraqis into performing terrorist acts against the United States. Thus, in order to stop further attacks, we must go to the source: China.
No blood for spam!
BTW: If you point out that Iraq wasn't behind 9/11, I will make a giant whooshing sound in reply.
Myst came from America. Sam & Max came from America. GTA3 came from America. Pac-Man, Sims, SimCity. This isn't some vast "Japan has Art, America has Shooters" gap.
I would say for every FPS America cranks out, Japan cranks out a lame fighter. For every GOOD FPS America cranks out (Halo), Japan cranks out a GOOD Fighter (Soul Caliber).
For the most part, however, both countries produce good games, usually what their populations demand. I hear GTA3 (a work of art) failed in Japan because gamers want a straight ahead game with clear rules and goals. Perhaps that's why no one takes any of the crazy Hentai games and brings them to America... different market.
I'm hereby removing the saddle from your high horse.
Yes, but Sony kicking the crap out of Nintendo in the console market could prove to be a glimpse of things to come (PS1 over N64, PS2 over Gamecube). Do you think Sony has learned nothing in these past couple years? The PSP looks pretty slick and more professional as well. The original gameboy sold very well with professionals (mostly due to Tetris).
All in all, its great to have competition in the marketplace.
I think if you had read my post, you would understand that I was replying to someone who said the DS was more innovative in its offerings than the PSP. As it turns out, they both are just rehashing old hits.
At least Nintendo have got some innovation in there rather than churning out the usual sports muck.
Yes, they really innovated the hell out of: Animal Crossing DS, Mario Kart DS, Metroid Prime: Hunters, an unnamed Super Mario Bros game, Super Mario 64X4, and WarioWare Inc.
This certainly looks a lot fresher than the PSP offerings!
Man, gotta hand it to Nintendo. They're coming out with a new system and instead of relying on the crutch of just cranking out old games they're releasing brand new, completely original games.
I mean, look at the list! 'Animal Crossing DS, Mario Kart DS, Metroid Prime: Hunters, a new Super Mario Bros game, Super Mario 64X4, and WarioWare Inc
Thank God we have Nintendo, who else would continue to push the boundaries of new, creative gaming?
They were selling it at a loss on launch day, it's just been getting worse since then.
Time and time again this has shown to be false. Microsoft has continued to redesign the Xbox (ie combining separate processors) to lower the costs of production. It has been shown that they effectively reduced the costs through these redesigns, in addition to the costs saved by using older hardware. I don't think the loss has been getting worse, but rather better.
A good game for me has to be easy to learn and difficult to master.
Sounds like you're searching for my personal favorite game Othello (also known as Reversi), which uses the phrase "A Minute To Learn, A Lifetime To Master," on the box.
I wouldn't just look at just ONE MONTH, but I can't find any yearly figures either.
According to Wired: Right now, Nintendo commands 98 percent of the $1.1 billion market for handheld game devices and relies on its Game Boy Advance for a big chunk of its revenue and profit. In fact, the Game Boy Advance is carrying a lot of water for the company, since the GameCube, Nintendo's flagship gaming console, is rapidly falling behind the PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox in sales. That's why the company needs the Nintendo DS to be a big hit. But the early betting is on the Sony PSP.
I realize it is without numbers, but it is from a reliable publication.
Skeet shooting is an olympic sport. It's serious, standing still and shooting clay pigeons is one of the mainstays of the contemporary olympiad. Is it a sport?
Under my definition of sport, certainly not.
Standing up and pointing a gun is not particularly athletic, but it does require tremendous amounts of skill. Only the best in the world, the absolute elite amongst humanity can win a gold medal. Would you then say that these people, much like video game players, don't deserve to compete in a recognised competition?
Yes, I would. Skeet shooting is as much a "sport" as checkers or shopping online. It is a skilled activity which requires no physicial exertion, and thus, not a sport and thus, should not be in the Olympics.
So, they're really good at tossing a ball around. Okay...
Basketball, like many sports, also requires ATHLETICISM in addition to skill. Thus, joe schmoe at home is in awe of the sheer athletic prowess that these men (and women) posses. Unfortunately, with video games, it is soley twitch reflexes and strategy but ZERO athleticism. Basketball is not just tossing a ball around, but playing videogames is just playing videogames.
People thought Nintendo had a lock on the home console market with the NES. Over the years, that was challenged because people saw the HUGE market available.
Right now, many see the giant market in handhelds. They will, without a doubt, begin chipping away at the big-N. Nintendo can't hold the lead forever, especially since they seem to be in a regurgitation stage for the GBA - "Super Mario 8 did great on SNES? Port it to GBA... it will make a lot of money!"
As far as Microsoft Japan, I think they should forget it. Japan continues to prove a difficult market for the Xbox, for numerous reasons (one being that the Japanese are hostile to American firms).

I Blame games that are referred to by acronym only.
No blood for spam!

I recommend going for a walk. It'll help with your capitalization skills and also clear your mind of rage.

An alternate reading would be that this is the very guy the article is about.
Is Viagra some generic version?
But apparently you are the type of OCD that has to mention their SAT score to prove something to complete strangers. Congrats!
I've seen video on a show of it doing a tethered flight... it's real. How much more than a tethered flight is yet to be seen.
All in all, its great to have competition in the marketplace.
Yes, but in Europe they have fewer Semis (and those can't drive on the weekend in most countries) as well as FAR FEWER SUVS.
My dad always referred to this model as the 4-6-8-0 because eventually that's how many cylinders would work.
No, you don't. You have CE, but no Food and Drug Administration.
Oh, and please stop checking out my ass.

For the record, I have a Sega Dreamcast and no nex-gen system.
Nintendo fanboys are spineless sheep that only serve to turn more people against the GameCube.

Great (non video-)game.

Also, are you truly that anal to point out SP versus standard Advance? I got what they are driving at.
