Star Trek: Discovery will return for the second half of the split season on Sunday, November 12th. There will be roughly a two month gap between the last episode of the first half of the split season, which aires on Sunday, November 12th, and the first episode of the second half of the split season
They're "returning" for the second half of the split season in two days? So... there isn't a split at all. Since the show has been "airing" every week so far... Or, if the coming episode is the last until January 7th, then the show is ending in two days, until the second half begins, not returning.
Recall that the Kindle/Fire line of e-readers/tablets have a slightly cheaper version which shows large ads on the lock screen. In my experience they resemble the scrolling ads on Netflix for shows they offer, that works as a screen saver, which I haven't heard anyone complain about or even mention. If that bothers you, you can spend a few dollars more for the model with no ads. So silent ads as screen savers, sure why not.
It's worth noting you don't even have to make the decision at the time of purchase. You can pay a one-time fee to Amazon and get the advertising removed from the "~with Special Offers" models post-purchase, too.
...the hole in the Earth's ozone layer is 1.3 million square miles smaller than last year and 3.3 million square miles smaller than 2015... This year, the hole grew to 7.6 million square miles.
If the 2017 size is 1.3m sq mi smaller than 2016, how did the hole "grow" to 7.6 million sq miles?
I don't want to wipe her system, but a year of searching hasn't uncovered any way to fix this issue. If I could upgrade her to Windows 10, maybe it would break her computer out of the endless reboot cycle.
Sounds like the problem is your own stubbornness. After an entire year of searching for a solution you have expended many, many times more effort than if you had just backed up the documents and reformatted the machine -- which I suspect is what you will have to do in the end anyway.
What I don't understand is how it can possibly benefit you in the long-run to sue the customer you want to keep the business of?
I'm sure Qualcomm's case will eventually come down to patents at some point. They will argue it is impossible for Apple to develop their own radios without infringing on one of their patents. So Apple has to get their chips from them (or another maker that is already in a license agreement/otherwise in compliance with Qualcomm).
Sounds like they are getting rid of the Outlook.com Premium tier and only giving that experience to Office 365 subscribers. So no. You will still get that banner. They are effectively raising the price of getting an ad-free Outlook website experience, since an Outlook 365 sub is going to me more expensive than the Premium Outlook.com I'm sure.
on Sprint's part, about who the real loser in this pairing is.
Management/merger failures is how they got into the position they are now. Why the hell would T-Mobile, who have only been doing gangbusters-better the last five years, let Sprint take the wheel of the combined company?
Her vocals are based off samples of an actual person.
Now, consider modern pop stars: who can only sing (not play any instruments), are singing songs written by someone else, and are having their vocals put through filters and auto-tune in production, and live out a personality in public groomed by their marketing agency.
Because the policy was causing lots of highly-popular content creators to consider ditching YouTube for other sites. They want to make money for their videos, and if YouTube is going to stop the flow of revenue they have no reason to post there. But, not-coincidentally, people go to YouTube to watch the videos of those creators. If those videos stop appearing there people have less reason to go to YouTube.
See how the system benefits publishers and creators as well when there is no exclusivity contract locking content to a particular service?
I was happily using Ubuntu until 17.10. Gnome desktop scaling is very primitive compared to Unity and made my small hi-res screen look awful at 125% and 150% scaling. So I've gone back to Windows 10...
There are plenty of Ubuntu-derived distros using other DEs. Did you try any of them? Completely dropping Linux because of a lack of Unity seems a bit extreme.
A solid show maybe but, there was less Star Trek in the free episode I saw than in the first five minutes of the average Orville episode....They failed to sell me, and up to this point, I watched every single live action Trek show in existence.
The first episode was actually weak. I also noticed the lens flare crap (a la Abrams' Trek reboot) and silly swingy camera work during stationary dialog scenes. The second episode was definitely an improvement, and the show has gotten stronger since then (and those effects annoyances have also been reduced).
I'm inclined to think the problem is this shows tries to be inclusive to the point it feels like a political statement, and that kinda gets in the way of the storytelling. I had no interest in Enterprise, and dropped Voyager midway, but I'm liking this so far.
Maybe the glasses were designed to sell at a loss or at a very low margin to build the brand of the Snapchat app/site and they couldn't afford for people to buy them for use by non-chat users.
That would make sense... if the Snapchat brand needed such exposure. This is exactly the opposite. The product was made and expected to sell due to the existing high recognition of the Snapchat brand and existing app userbase, but the product wasn't that interesting and people are happy with current space of the Snapchat brand (smartphone apps).
The company is trying to branch out into something with a more concrete revenue stream and failed.
What the fuck? Why not just fix the one broken key?
It wasn't "broken" in a way that was physically apparent. I bought the laptop from a used Mac vendor, and the machine seemed to work fine when I got it. The issue started to happen, only occasionally, after a few months (so, coincidentally after my warranty ended). The only hint there was an issue was the Command key on the left near Control was very noisy compared to the rest of the keys. But they all worked fine at the start. Normally when it tripped up a couple hard taps on the left Command key would "unstick" the Control function. The keys themselves are not sticking, as I said. It was just acting like it was held down.
When the issue started to really become a bother I pried off the key caps and realized a previous owner had spilled cola in that area of the keyboard. I tried to clean it up with alcohol tipped Q-tips, but that's all I could do. These keyboards can't really be disassembled on a per-key level. Under the cap it's the hinge the cap snaps onto, a rubber dome button, and layers of thin plastic and metal. There was nothing you could see damaged to fix.
It looked better after I cleaned it, but the malfunctioning issue continues to get worse over time. It's not really possible to replace just the keyboard. It's part of the top case and glued into place. You can get keyboards by themselves from salvage people. They will go for $25-$30 for my machine. But people who have tried to replace the just keyboard portion have had mixed results since they are disassembling a part that is not made to be taken apart. Is it cheaper than a entire top case? Yes. But you have to do all the same steps as a top case replacement, and then some more, to replace the keyboard in the case. With fit and finish issues it's not really worth the extra effort verses just getting the entire top case.
It kind of sounds more like a mechanical problem with the butterfly switch than an electrical problem. At least the fix is the same in either case though. Just $700 or so for a new top case, and the metal shaving or piece of dust or whatever is no longer a problem.
Interestingly, I just replaced the top case on my Macbook a couple weeks ago. The Control key was sticking (electrically) in the "on" position. Made the computer pretty worthless when I couldn't even log in (because half the letters in my password were being interpreted as ctrl-foo keyboard shortcuts).
Part cost: $90 on eBay -- and that was for brand new, genuine Apple replacement. Not knock-off or a used top case scavenged from another machine.
It did take three hours of my (rather unskilled) time to practically disassemble the entire computer so I could move it over to the new top case. What labor rate are you using for that $700 figure again?
Who you going to believe, some buy the eBay hired as an authenticator whose credentials rely on their claim that the manufacturer says they're competent, or the manufacturer, saying they're not?
Appraisers are many times sole proprietorships and partnerships. They are qualified by independent trade boards and their business is staked on their personal reputation, not the blessing of the manufacturer of goods.
I guess you missed this:
...their workforce is independent of the manufacturer of the goods
The point being the manufacturer is not who decides who is competent or not.
we'll be hearing how some manufacturers are using this system to block sale of used goods.
Would love your hear your explanation of how they would do this. Appraisals are a industry older than any of these luxury brands, and their workforce is independent of the manufacturer of the goods.
What's Gucchi going to do, stop the seller from shipping the item to the authenticator?
What has the size of the house to do with the needed electricity?
The largest consumer of electricity in a home is the climate control system.

The rumors of Apple developing their own radio chips has them freaking out. Their shareholders will be out for blood if they lose Apple's business.

How big is the difference really?
you shouldn't be shopping at Whole Foods to start with.

I imagine the baking soda would be safer and cheaper for cleaning produce than a bleach solution.

Even Spectacles wont let you see those buried cartridges, they were exhumed in 2013.
What a spectacle they've made of themselves with their ambitions dashed.
