I can't afford the extra 75 cents this year. I was counting on the manufacturers numbers to make my budget numbers. I guess I will just need to skip a meal. Damn you, LG!
Have you ever listened to people complain about price increases in their cable TV service. They will actually claim they "can't afford" the new price, even when it only goes up 50 cents a month.
Obviously a phone that is only going to be sold in developing markets.
They boast Internet connectivity with the Opera web browser but the phone has no wi-fi or even 3G connectivity, let alone 4G/LTE. Specs page here, only shows GSM 900 and 1800 mhz band. Does not support AT&T legacy 850 or T-Mobile 1900 and isn't even reaching over a quarter megabit on EGPRS data rate.
But then people would complain about how thick the phone will be -- while simultaneously taking their existing thinner one and putting it into a thick battery case to get any useful life out of it.
Can't you just buy the Windows 10 model and put whatever Linux you want on it? Or do they lock that down now?
That's what I was wondering. Am I paying a $150 premium just for Dell "support" on the pre-installed Ubuntu (which I wouldn't even keep)? I would assume all these "great driver contributions" would have been open source as well and available to other distros -- especially Ubuntu-based distros like Mint.
Have you actually tried this? I've got a case fan with them and I tried multiple layers of different kinds of tape and they're still shining through.
If you are going to the trouble of trying to tape over fan LEDs you could cut the wires for the LEDs or replace the fans with plain one -- as a bonus you can get some that are quieter than what you have now.
The issue wasn't just space, but interference between parts. Apple could have miniaturized the analog audio jack further, but the interference would have remained.
Well, if there's one interface that doesn't have issues with interference from surrounding parts, it's wireless. e_e
Well, that is one very cynical view. Of course they might have reasons that benefit users.
Everything you can do with the new headphone-jackless iPhone 7 could have been done with the previous models. The iPhone 5/5S/6/6S, and SE all have Lightning ports and bluetooth, so there was zero reason Apple had to remove the headphone jack if they wanted to start shipping dongles and AirPods instead of wired earphones.
They didn't do anything with the space the 3.5mm jack was before, just added a (non-functional) speaker grille for aesthetic reasons. They could have added a second Lightning port to the phone, so you can use the headphone dongle and charge your phone at the same time. But why spend a couple dollars more in parts when you can make the consumer spend $40 to do the same thing instead?
Maybe that indicates the rebooted movies aren't "real" Star Trek. I don't really know since I've never been a Trekkie;-)
Hey, you figured it out. It's not that you like the new Star Trek and don't really care for the old Star Trek -- it's that you just don't like Star Trek. But you like action sci-fi movies, and these just happen to have characters and settings that were borrowed from Star Trek.

Isn't this also the version that changes extension APIs so we essentially have to use Chrome extensions now?
Seriously. Where do I apply to get these high-end IT jobs that require so little actual knowledge?
Why don't they just lock the phone up for all but emergency calling instead of playing with the battery icon color?
He might have suddenly reached out and snatched one of their guns.
Sounds like a great reason to buy a cheap black and white laser printer.
But then people would complain about how thick the phone will be -- while simultaneously taking their existing thinner one and putting it into a thick battery case to get any useful life out of it.
If $600 is now referred to as a "plenty", what would the $9,100 be?
She should just cut them a check for $91.00 -- they'll consider the bill paid in full.

Some people couldn't follow a recipe to boil water to save their life...
That's kinda an amusing metaphor to use, since people get religion because they want to be "saved".
Maybe they could get away with this on the base Macbook or Macbook Air, but it's just asinine to remove the 35mm jack from a Pro device.
I would say the same thing about the wired Ethernet port -- but people seemed to let that one slide.

Did you flunk Reading Comprehension 101...
Possibly why they are so hyped on audiobooks.
The only opinion that matters is Obama's. He's the one who can grant a pardon, and the Constitution makes it stick.
Even if Obama did pardon him, I'm sure the next person in office would make sure he met an "unfortunate accident" if he ever returned to the U.S.
Good. We need AI that can correctly identify a person as a prostitute and various fictional weaponry and automobiles.
The issue is already fixed.
Well, you could always use a Samsung phone and burn to death instead, but hey, let's bitch about a fucking headphone socket...
Would it still burn me if I took it underwater like the OP wants to do?
My kid loves his lawn darts, you insensitive clod!
It's the Ciiircle of Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiife
And it mooooooves us aaaaaallllll...

...what to do! I'll stop using it as soon as you pry it out of my cold dead ha
You mean "smoldering, missing"?

I'm actually impressed that's all they want. I feel like previously Amazon hardware has wanted more like $25-40 to avoid "special offers".
