WinXP has built-in archiving. I don't run WinXP at home but I get to at work and my friend's place. I have no interest in learning windows any more than I have to but...

The folders that are zip files have a litle zipper icon on them and if you right-click on them there is a choice to 'extract' and right-clicking on an unarchived file shows a 'add to archive' choice.

Although it is my experience that most people don't want to learn the OS they run even moderately well.

    Disclaimer:
Yes, I am still learning Linux, slowly. But I am learning.

If the U.S. were to drastically reduce its Defense spending it could stop debating how to fix Social Security, it would then be fixed. All the social programs that receive federal monies could possibly benefit.

In other words, expect to see a marked rise in quality if living.

Better yet, of all the money normally spent on Defense use the amount that would have gone to Defese before the reduction to clean up superfund and other sites till they're clean(er).

So if you run Windows but use another browser just put the internet security settings to their highest, turn on your firewall, and never, never, never, use MSIE or any SW that will not register w/o IE.

In Linux you type a command, options, file and if your syntax is correct you get no news. This is good.

ATTENTION LINUX DESKTOPS (GNOME, KDE, everyone else)!!! Don't be like M$ with the "Are You sure You're Sure" dialogs and buttons. Having a desktop that seems familiar is an ease to migrating from Windows but to implement the same idiot warnings will just give us another Windows.
