What the hell? I use GNOME because Firefox and Evolution use GTK. As a normal desktop user, I want looks and some ease of use and SIMPLICITY! Unfortunately Mr Linus, GNOME is much better from a ease-of-use/usability point of view; I am no kernel genius like you, I want my OS to be like Google. And so you say Novel just got itself wasted with the Ximian acquisition? Hah!
Ive used Bloglines, Newsgator and Google Reader. So far, Newsgator seems to be the most easiest to use, much better than any damn email reader interface can do. Yes, it is much easier to use than Google Reader.
Why would you pay for just a page from a book? What exactly could it be worth? Isn't the whole point of buying books is to, well, have the entire book and not just a few paragraphs of it (probably the same content/information you can get from somewhere else for free).
CNN: What will surprise us about the future evolution of the Internet?
BERNERS-LEE: The creativity of our children. In many ways, people growing up with the Web and now the Semantic Web take the power at their fingertips for granted. The people who designed the tools that make the Net run had their own ideas for the future. I look forward to seeing what the next generation does with these tools that we could not have foreseen....
Isn't he talking about kids creatively changing the internet but not exactly kids getting creative BY it as of today?
Will this spark an miniature era of mainframe trainings? and will this create so many technicians trained to operate mainframes and then to find that all mainframe jobs are taken?

India just outsourced itself to Rural America...
WTF? Where is Event Horizon?

Trees (moisture) ABSORB the waves, they do not bounce off.
... schools they teach everything about Venus.. Intelligent Design!
From time to time we hear about such brilliant minds. But what happens when they grow up? Was anyone from here a child prodigy?

What. Don't Slashdot editors have the power to "edit" the topics? Really, misleading topics like this should never ever happen here.
So, "people doing searches on Google really did not know that they were on an ad network all the time."
But I think most poeple prefer to think of Google as a search engine, not an ad network.
