The IRS is only requiring reporting if you make over $5000 a year. Most average Ebayers don't sell that much. It is really for the people running small busineses through Ebay and they should keep reciepts just like any other business.
I don't think people are getting screwed with a minor update every 2 years. I had a Game Boy advance and a first edition of the DS (still) and I have no need to upgrade either of them. As long as I don't need to upgrade and most of the revisions are minor so what.
Now if they release an updated platform every 3-6 months then it is a different story
I don't thinks this is 100% accruate. Number 2 is "NO EXTRA SOFTWARE OPTION" with 8016 votes and number 4 is "Build computers not loaded with extra software" with 5102 votes which equals 13118. Which is almost the same as number 1 "Pre-Installed Linux | Ubuntu | Fedora | OpenSUSE | Multi-Boot" with 14641 votes.
Someone needs to clean up the voting an remove dups. There are some good ideas hopefully Dell will listen.
Again agreed, but the main story asks if it would move me off of Tivo or Myth (both DVRs). It needs to come a long way to move me off a DVR system. As a media center it does have promise. But would it compete with a myth box, Modded Xbox or even a Xbox360 is yet to be seen.
Agreed that is true, but you are also assuming that I am watching the same 10 shows year round. I might watch 30 different shows throughout the year. I also might miss hidden gems because I don't want to spend $2 on a show, or I never see a commercial. If I have more than one viewer , i.e. kids (I do) they may watch another 5-10 shows also adding to the overall costs. DVR records them all for the same price, whether it is 1 show or 100 shows a year.
I have DVR through Comcast for about $75 with digital cable plus. Now if I watch 10 shows a week, and the dowload costs $2 each that is $80 a month (10 shows * 4 weeks * $2), toss in the cost of the unit and then subscribtion costs and it is even less appealing. I won't replace my DVR.
I understand that they don't want advertising, but how many of them have donated? I also wouldn't call it a significant portion of there base because most people read the article with out creating accounts. Easy solution, create an account and donate you won't see ads.
If you look here. A majority of the Blue Ray movies are older. I counted 15 that are about a year old. For Example:
Resident Evil
Scooby Doo
Hitchikers Guide
Courage Under Fire
HDDVD has a a few too (counted 6), but I think blue-ray flooded the market with older movies.
There will probably still be the guitar controller (at least for the wii) but will include motion sensing from the wiimote (like a plugin place for it). It will be cheaper to make the guitar if it could use the blue tooth technology in the wiimote and just plugin like the classic controller. The article did not go into detail.
If you try to login in from a new computer another screen asks you a question, like name of your first pet, to prevent this from happening. I am also sure they will block the IP after 10-20 attempts anyways.
He should have logged in every 30 days to make sure his emails where safe. I used to log in to Hotmail, Yahoo, etc once a week so I wouldn't lose my emails.
You posted as an Anonymously but listed the company you used to work for. I think they can figure out who it is. I also think that the VP of Sales(is he the hiring manager?) doesn't really know his legal rights and may be blowing smoke up your ass trying to scare you. It is good that you left. I would still hire a lawyer and have him contact the company and reverse the roles some.
Of course after I post I read this. From Wikipedia, "In the United States, the standard employment contract is considered to be at-will meaning that the employer and employee are both free to terminate the employment at any time and for any cause, or for no cause at all."
I believe that may be legal. 43 states have At-Will employment. It allows an employee to quit for no reason. UNLESS, you are under contract. If you are under contract they can't fire you and you can't leave untill the contract is up. IMHO it sounds like a crappy place to work and I am sure you can 'stick it to the man' if you tried to leave. Check you state labor laws and most states even have hot lines to call.

Looks like ebay is run mostly on windows and IIS. See here
They ran a gaming center. How many hours a day where the machines on? Where they in cabinets? These are a huge factors.
Still that is a lot of failures.
Sega CD and Sega 32x where Add-Ons so they are a different scenario. And If remember they never really caught on.
The concept does apply. If the unit does not sell than it is sunk. They are alredy selling the units at a lost so there is no cushion from profits.

Wrong. The unit is already produced so you already have the expense. They need to sell the units to reduce the Sunk costs.

I don't think the novelty will wear out, as long as developers keep coming up with creative ways to use the wiimote.

The orginal lawsuit the Plantiff was the doctor suing the defendent for 11.3 million. The Plantiff (doctor) won. The defendent (patient) has nothing.
It should be:
All your email are belong to us.
Take the group you have for reference, are they gamers?
Out of all the people I now 100% own computers so that means everyone in the world owns a computer, right?
I am sure they will plenty of other engines for Wii. Maybe even a few just for it.

The world is coming to an end. Mommy is now daddy. Maybe I have two daddies? Anyways I use Bluehost.
