My Linux suspends just fine (Asus N56VV and MSI H97-based desktop). The only time I restart is when I update the kernel. I haven't experienced any freezes yet.
I have one functional hand and I have edited my keymap in linux console to have sticky keys in console. In Xfce it's easier, just toggle a switch in the accessibility settings.
put this patch in/etc/portage/patches/x11-base/xorg-server/ stickykeysfix.patch
It simply reverts the problem causing commit and now sticky keys are released after a mouseclick on my system. I don't know if this introduces other bugs though.
On my laptop I had to disable dynamic clocking in my nvidia driver config to get a working driver.
Add this to your nvidia modprobe options in/etc/modprobe.d/:
options nvidia NVreg_RegistryDwords="PerfLevelSrc=0x2222"
Many people have this problem with the official nvidia driver.
I would recommend Vulture's if you want a a graphical version of NetHack.
The Vulture's games are forks of the Falcon's Eye project; over the standard Falcon's Eye base and the optional use of the Slash'EM core, Vulture's incorporates the latest core sources, hundreds more graphics and sounds, many bugfixes and performance enhancements, and an open, collaborative development environment.

This reminds me, next month is FOSDEM (Free and Open source Software Developers' European Meeting) in Brussels: http://www.fosdem.org.
I suggest we raid the EU headquarters and talk some sense into the EU ministers.
In the Netherlands and Belgium, the Mac mini costs 520 euro actually (that's ~683 dollar). So the simPC is much cheaper. Not that I would buy it though:p
Yes, they run on XP, but you need to download additional patches and fixes. If you have problems running them, there's still an active community playing these games, creating custom missions and ships: http://www.ehtiecorps.org where you can ask for help.
I can't use Proxomitron because that's windows only,
but I checked the Privoxy manual and indeed, it can be done: http://www.privoxy.org/user-manual/actions-file.ht ml#HIDE-REFERRER
thanks for the advice! now it's time to set up this privoxy thingy:)
I still wonder if it's possible to write a firefox extension for forged referrers.

posting to undo a moderation misclick on the above post, sorry
I lost my sense of smell after a head injury 9 years ago. I also had some loss of taste but that mostly came back.

yes.
That there's a duplicate Earth on the exact opposite side of the Sun!
OK, just for the fun of it: what would be the most efficient method to check this hypothesis?
That would be STEREO.

Oooh! Ahhh! That's how it always starts. Then later there's running and screaming.

Free Worlds, a Freelancer total conversion. Multiplayer only.
doesn't Ubuntu Linux use gnome 2.8?
you may want to check out Free Worlds, a multiplayer Star Wars Total conversion mod for Freelancer.

I can't figure out how to do this. How can one change the referrer in Firefox?
d'oh, forgot the settings:

obviously my old graphics card is the bottleneck. I don't have a windows box here, but maybe someone who has a dualboot can test this benchmark.
