This reminds me of the time where I had lizards in my case. I started smelling something funny and pinpointed the smell at my computer case. I opened her up and found 6 dead lizards. I have no idea how they got in there. They were not pet lizards but they kind you see sunning themselves on the sides of brick homes. I guess they got in the house and found a warm spot and couldn't get back out. I wish I had pics.
hold Alt and then tap 0233 on the number pad (then release Alt).
There has to be a better way. It's usually faster for me to go to google and type a french word that I know has an accent in it (without the accent of course) and then paste the accented e that is presented in the search results.
What do French speakers/typists do on Windows? On a mac it's option+e, e.
Thuraya is $2500/month for unlimited usage. 144 kbps. All you need to do is couple 10 or so of these together and you'll have a nice connection (albeit, with fairly high latency). I think it only works in Europe, Western Asia, and Africa.
Best Buy is a pro at MDM, and have been for a few years now. They have a record of everyone's purchases and actions at Best Buy who hasn't paid for a purchase in cash. Even those cash purchases are tracked if the person uses a rewards zone card. They know which credit cards you have used at each location, they know if you are a sucker for warranties, and they know if you have a tendency to bring stuff back after a few weeks. They digest every piece of identifiable information that you have so they can target you, the consumer, in a more profitable manner.
Why hasn't Viacom produced a 24 hour Spongebob channel? At any given moment, there is a very high probability that Spongebob is on one of the Nick channels. Why not give people some consistency and let them find Spongebob at his very own channel?
Get GMail out of beta. Heck, it's been over 2 years!
Wow.. it's actually been over four years. I just went back through my inbox and found my "Gmail is different. Here's what you need to know" welcome letter dated 8/24/2004.
... There are no Google Bombs. Once it is out in the open, it is gone. So, does it ever exist? Perhaps, for a brief moment in time.
I know for a fact that Google has a small team dedicated to this sort of thing now. Google bombs, if they do materialize, are immediately squished. Google searches blogs and popular websites such as Slashdot for news items discussing "glitches" in their ranking algorithm. If there is a "bomb", it is extinguished immediately.
Unfortunately, Apple could not find a partner to install 3G towers throughout Greenland's 840,000 square miles for a population of just 54,000 people. BTW, Greenland's slogan is "Move to Greenland, we'll give you 1,000 square miles of land".
1. Modify the scanner head to accommodate a reader of sorts 2. Scan the floppy 3. Reassemble bits using either Scheme, Perl - whatever. 3. ??? 4. Profit.
Tivo will be a target for Google. This will happen within a year. Mark my words.
My mac doesn't have this option. What now, smarty pants?
Welcome to 1999.
I heard that some folks live on the other half of Earth.
I love Wolfram Alpha:

You have to remember the sequence for all accented characters. Plus, how many laptops have numpads?

As for the required Flash plugin, so what? It's already everywhere.

+1 funny. I would have given you real mod points, but I have not had the privilege since I was blacklisted in '00.
If one has that large of a gap in judgement.. ...When he was 15. Everyone does crazy stuff when they are 15. I know I did. Didn't you?
I always link to this onion "story" when I see such a comment :

I'm seeing RC3 for those links.
Check out the timestamp of binary:

Please people - stop posting the RC links. Check the timestamps of these files on the mirros.. they are still 6/11

;)
Looks like they are running a bit behind.
Not due to slashdot only, of course.. but I've been trying to load up getfirefox.com since 1:00pm, and it appears to be bogged down.
