This is from the Harvard website. They DO offer a graduate degree online. Online education is going to be a big part of the future of education.

  6. README! - Key info on college degrees on Online vs. Traditional Degrees? · · Score: 2, Informative

The real key to online degrees is accreditation. The breakdown is as follows (in order of goodness):

    1. Non-accredited
Stay away from these schools. These schools can vary from solid coursework to send me $50 and I'll send you a degree. You can't be sure. All accredited graduate schools require an accredited degree for admission so this will not help you.

    2. State accredited
These are a bit better but still aren't good enough to get into accredited graduate schools. Most employers won't pay for tuition and you the US govt. won't consider you as having a degree with this or an unaccredited degree.

    3. DETC accredited degree (Distance Education Training Council)
This is an agency appproved by the US Dept. of Education. These degrees are much better than the above two but still aren't widely recognized especially in academic environments. This is the silver standard of accreditation. These degrees will be harder and require coursework that is expected of someone earning a college degree. Most schools won't accept these for admission to an accredited graduate program (unless it's also DETC approved) but there are many that do. It's the exception to find one that does. Given costs and other opportunities available to get a degree, think hard before going this route and make sure it fits your needs. (Disclaimer: I am enrolled in a DETC school for my Masters in History because they have what I want to study and it meets my needs. My school is also a candidate for regional acccreditation. See #4) These degrees are accepeted by many places for tution reimbursement as well as for getting govt. jobs. They also have been approved for the minimum accreditation for qualifying for officer school for the armed forces.

    4. Regional Accreditation
This is the gold standard of accreditation. All the top schools you hear of are appproved by these 6 seperate acreditation bodies. They are:

    * Middle States, Association of Colleges and Schools
    * New England Association of Schools and Colleges
    * North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
    * Northwest Association of School and Colleges
    * Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
    * Western Association of Schools and Colleges

If the degree you choose is accredited by one of these, you are good to go. You can get into any graduate program and won't have any problem with tuition assistance or even getting govt. jobs. You can teach at a university level and can be approved to teach K-12 as well.

Online degrees are being more and more accepted in business today. Many of the top schools in the country are starting to realize that they can make money by offering these programs. Penn State, Univ. of Maryland and even Harvard offer certain degrees in an online format.

There are several schools where you can test out of an entire degree. That's right, TEST OUT OF AN ENTIRE DEGREE. And it's regional accredited. One of these schools is Excelsior College (www.excelsior.edu) They will give credits for MCSE and Cisco exams as well as CLEP, DANTES and other exams you can take for credit.

For more info on these exams and to see how this is possible, take a look at BA in 4 weeks (http://bain4weeks.com/). 4 weeks is a bit aggressive but take a look at the details.

    August 29th, 2005

If you have 2 Nintendo DS's or you know someone else who has one you've probably played some multiplayer games. And you want more.

But which games are worth buying with the incentive of good multiplayer? Here are our notes on some of the most popular games out right now:

    Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Advance Wars: Dual Strike Wireless Rating: 5 Bars!

Get this game. This is hands down the best game for the DS available right now. And with 8-way multiplayer it will satisfy your wifi hunger. Bonus: The ability to draw your own maps makes this a game that has a great replay value....draw a map and let your friends download it.
Wireless Rating: 5 out of 5 bars

    Bomberman DS
    Bomberman Wireless Rating: 4 Bars!

The first 8-way multiplayer game available for the DS. Loads of fun with lots of people, but if you are planning on only having a 2-way game most of the time it probably shouldn't be your first pick. However, with a lot of players this can be great fun. Especially if all the players are using the mic to call out battle commands.
Wireless Rating: 4 out of 5 bars

    Meteos
    Meteos Wireless Rating: 5 Bars!

This game makes for some great 4-way puzzle action. There is nothing finer than watching your Meteos launch and seeing them collide with someone else's planet. This game is great wireless fun, in addition to the loads of single player fun you'll have.
Wireless Rating: 5 out of 5 bars

    Metriod
Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt Wireless Rating: 4 Bars!

The first console FPS that feels right. 4-way multiplayer action is very good on this demo, and with the recent announcement that the full version will have Internet play we can only expect more from the Samus Touch N' Kill department. My only beef with the multiplayer on this game is that the game is too dark. Of course, maybe that is just an excuse to why I am not any good at it. You probably already have this game, since it probably came with your DS, but after playing it in multiplayer mode it will make you want to buy the full version when it comes out.
Wireless Rating: 4 out of 5 bars

    Nanostray
    Nanostray Wireless Rating: 2 Bars!

2-way multiplayer and not terribly fun at that. Two players can play together to kill the bad guys, but not to help each other out...only to score points. The person with the most points wins. This is very limited and only huge fans of this genre will find any long-term playability in it. It would be nice to have a mode that allowed two or more players to play the main game together. It would also be nice to not have to use the download play if both players have the game.
Wireless Rating: 2 out of 5 bars

    Polarium
    Polarium Wireless Rating: 3 Bars!

A 2-way puzzle game that actually has a pretty fun multiplayer mode. If you can get past the plain graphics this game will have you and a friend swearing at each other in no time. Of course, if you have more than one friend with a DS you will probably want to look at other puzzle games like Meteos or Pop Puyo Fever instead.
Wireless Rating: 3 out of 5 bars

    Puyo Pop Fever
Puyo Pop Fever Wireless Rating: 5 Bars!

This 8-way puzzler is the first DS game where you probably won't use the touchscreen at all. It is also the first DS game which appears to be marketed directly at girl gamers. If you can get past that (and you should try), you'll find an addictive puzzle game that has great wireless play. This is also a great game to play with your wife or girlfriend. They'll really love it when they start kicking your butt. And they will start kicking your butt.
Wireless Rating: 5 out of 5 bars

    Super Mario 64 DS
Super Mario 64 Wireless Rating: 3 Bars!

4-way Yoshi action. Race against the other players to get as many stars as you can before the time runs out. And you can, uh, stick out your tongue and, uh, eat the other players. Then spit them out. Uh, yeah. Anyway, the multiplayer is fun, but not fun enough to j

Weapons of mass destruction (WMD) are a major problem around the world. We believe that it is costing U.S. businesses and citizens about $250 billion in tax dollars and wages," some random talking head told Reuters in an interview with reporters and editors.

The party currently running the country, tapped the resources of a random individual that is currently an up-in-coming member of the political party, to head up the administration's anti-WMD efforts. A random Middle Eastern Country, along with Iraq -- where 90 percent of WMD originate-- will be a chief priority, this random government official said.

"Frankly, our goal is to reduce (Middle East and Iraq's WMD trade) to zero," he said. This government official declined to specify a timetable, but acknowledged it could be a lengthy effort which will waste just as much tax money and resources as the users did before it while actually not eliminating anything.

He got a personal glimpse of rampant WMD trafficing during visits earlier this month, when he was offered the chance to buy WMD and sell them to his own citizens, an aide said.

The United States will closely monitor a long list of anti-WMD pledges these two countries made after the US government offered them huge aid packages at this month's high-level Joint Commission on WMD Trade meeting, including a promise to increase criminal prosecutions, he said.

    "Bruce Schneier
    Minneapolis, Minnesota

I had a free day on a business trip to Seoul, so I decided to do a bit of sightseeing. Yoseu, a random town at the end of a train line, seemed as good a place as any to explore, so I bought a round-trip ticket.

The market was still crowded even though it was dusk by the time my train arrived. I stopped in front of what looked to be a restaurant. On the floor in front of the store were water-filled pails with things inside. I recognized squid in one, oysters in another, and clams in a third. There were three others: orange bulbous things with puckers, long brown things with puckers, and long smooth white things that half floated and half sank. I assumed they were all alive.

The woman who sat behind this menagerie looked up at me. I pointed to the orange things, pointed to the brown things, pointed at the tables inside of the store, and smiled.
She smiled back, got up, and walked into the restaurant. I followed her.

There were four long tables, all empty. I sat down at the far table. The woman brought three orange things and three brown things and proceeded to clean them. She set two bowls of water out in front of her: a green one and a white one. She cut open the orange things and put the orange insides in the green bowl, and the orange outsides in the white bowl. Then she cut open the brown things and put the brown outsides in the green bowl with the orange insides, and the brown insides in the white bowl with the orange outsides. I didn't have the foggiest idea which bowl was for eating and which was for throwing away.

After she was finished, she started cutting up the orange insides and the brown outsides. All I could think at this point was: Please cook this. Whatever you do, please cook this. Then I noticed that there wasn't a stove anywhere.

She put the orange and brown things on a plate and set it in front of me. Then she gave me a bowl of hot sauce, a bowl of kimchi, and a cup of cold tea.

I looked at my plate. I didn't even know what phylum the stuff came from.

She then presented something to me with a flourish and a big smile. It was a fork. Well, I had to take it. I really didn't want it, but she'd probably had this fork for years, it was probably her only one, and I was probably the first American brave enough to eat there. I couldn't spoil it for her.

I took the fork and stabbed a brown thing. She was watching me as I put it in my mouth. It was chewy, but it tasted pretty good. I tried an orange thing. It wasn't as good. I smiled at her. She smiled back and went outside.

She poked her head in from time to time. Once she brought a friend. She told her something in Korean. Probably something like: "Look at that. I gave him the orange insides and the brown outsides, and he doesn't even know the difference."

I just smiled. What else could I do?
