    No you dont. If you try to install from an upgrade disk, it will ask you to insert a cd of a previous version of windows to verify the upgrade.

    Mine does. Of course I used a program called nLite to customize my windows cd. And guess what? After showing my 65 year old father the website for it, he was able to do it as well.

    Tools --> Options --> General. type your favorite urls in the homepage box seperated by |

    http://www.google.com/|http://www.slashdot.org|htt p://www.fark.com

    And when you open firefox, the urls you put in the home page box will be tabbed.

    Even the most computer illiterate person I know uses google. No one I know uses MSN. They know about google because of the media coverage it gets. They dont know about MSN.

    are you one of the people who would say dell sucks for all that, then get all indignant when people say linux distros shouldnt have 50 media players and broswers and text editors etc.. ? The ones who call it bloatware when its dell and windows, but CHOICE when its linux?

    Im an intelligent person that took job #2 and performed well at it for 13 years. I have two Bachelors Degrees. One in Sociology and the other in World History from the University of California Riverside and am now a 2nd year law student at Pepperdine. Yes it is boring 95% of the time and scary when its not. But hey so is life. My squadron C.O. ( the Cav company sized units are called squadrons) survived Vietnam only to be killed a week after he retired by a drunk driver. You take a risk of being killed everyday you go outside.

    You should reserch before you respond. Intel has admitted they reverse engineered AMD's extensions for their own chips.

    And also, just because you sell more computers than anyone else doesnt mean you were responsible for adoption of a standard. When dell begins to sell AMD will they claim responsibility for AMD?
    If anything apple is responsible for wireless. They had it standard before anyone else did.

    Exactly. There are distros that install 5-6 window managers, 5 different text editors, mutiple multimedia players, and thats insane. Then when anyone says that they shouldnt, all the opensource freaks run around screaming about choice!
