I'm new to AICN, but are Mr. Knowles' reviews always that poorly written? If his "writing" style and compositions qualify as reviews and all it takes to build a fanbase and a web empire then when I get home I'm all over that and be up and running by tomorrow:-)
... other than are people slacking at work [which is a resounding Duh - Of Course], is are people still getting their jobs done and meeting their productivity requirements whilst working Slack time into their daily work routines.
If someone can Slack and still contribute what's expected of them then I don't see it as an issue.
If someone can't Slack and get their work done, then that's a definitely problem and should be dealt with using whatever disciplinary modalities are in place at the individuals place of business.
If by saw you mean imagined then I agree. Most of my friends who read the books first then saw the BBC series also thought the BBC characters were pretty close to how they pictures the characters in the novels. I just thought it was a little uncanny how the vision in my head matched someone elses interpretation of the books.
Uh oh.
Anytime anyone associated with AICN posts thumbs-up pre-blather about an upcoming flick, said work turns out to be crap. Especially seeing as in this case the "reviewer" isn't familiar with the series.
If I had my way, they'd simply clean up the BBC television series and release it in theaters. The effects were cheesy as heck, but the characters were spot on to what I thought they should be - and that's the selling point of HHGTTG - the characters.
That of all the tech companies plying their wares on the web, Google is one of the few that actively listens to complaints and at least in some measure, acts on them.
The DS is Nintendo's new fangles dual screen handheld.
One screen for games.
The second for adverts which will run continuously whilst viewing the first.
It's interesting how pervasive cellphones have become in China and how they've displaced regular phone lines.
This trend is slowly evolving in North America (my room mate among many other people I know, have cell phones as their only means of personal phone communication) but I'm not certain if it will take root the same way it has with our Chinese neighbors, but it would be neat to see.
Cool - imagine an entire line of quasi-radioactive collectibles to decorate your Xmas tree and decorate that shelf above the fireplace that needs that something special.
Our office was a fair distance from the Apple retailer in question. I was told I had to either send or drop off the old drive to Apple at my expense.
Didn't have the time nor the inclination.
Under normal circumstances I wouldn't have cared about relinquishing the old part, but between Apple kicking up such a big stink about having the old part and the fact I would have to travel out of my way or spend the extra $$ to have it couriered, I just wasn't interested in playing.

Back in the annals of yesteryear our department maintained a few MAC's. Being a PC tech at the time I knew sweet little about the little beige boxes, but when they did break I always offered a hand to see if I could fix what was wrong.
An external floppy drive at one point died on the unit (which was out of warranty). I verified that it was indeed toast and called our local Apple shop to source a replacement.
They gave me a price and we were in the middle of processing the order when the slipped in a By The Way.
"We need the old drive back"
I told them No You Don't. The machine isn't under warranty. I'm buying a replacement part - this isn't a warranty service.
They pushed the point and said that they couldn't sell me the replacement drive unless I gave them the old drive back.
At that point I hung up on them and bought the replacement drive through an online vendor.
Is Apple still as anal these days about dispensing replacement parts for out of warranty repairs?
How much will these improvements increase sales? I would suspect based on the age of the PS2 that most folks who have wanted a PS2 already have one, which would diminish the value of this "new and improved" model
What we're basically getting here is a tired rehash of a series that's over 27 years old. Not really worth getting excited over imho.
And while I think George deserves his due, he's already made bazillions off the series - piracy should be the least of his rationals for rereleasing the original series early.
I've often wondered how much detail
folks who consume books on tape/CD/PAD actually
retain. Sitting down and concentrating only
on listening to an audio recording in one thing, but I'm wondering how much information actually sticks when you're engaged in other simultaneous
actvities like driving, flossing the dog, etc.

... the companies creedo should read: pay a monthly fee, receive a certain number of DVDs, watch them copy them THEM send them back.
"You want the key? I don't remember the password."
What do the police do then?
... then the movie *must* be good. Personally I don't find his opinions all that indicative of quality film.

They proudly introduce The World's Biggest Printer (and toner catridge)

Waaaaait a minute - if a cigarette isn't a drug delivery instrument then I don't know what is.
:-) (even if I can't spell it properly)
Why doesn't the FDA ban cigarettes based on the same premise they used to deny the smokeless cigaratte back in the 80's?
I call shinnanigans
I'd like to see someone combine the original posters working ipod design with the "full body" costume of the parent - that would definitely rock!
Only 30 songs? How many laps of the wading pool is that exactly? I find it unusual that the unit holds such a limited number of songs.
.. how many miles to the gallon does this puppy get?

... almost anything goes. Maybe we're more open minded. Maybe we're a little less uptight. Maybe we watch a little too much American TV.
