But... I am still confused... Is this saying that if they can prove you had a shared folder and that folder contained copyrighted works, then you are guilty of copyright infringement? OR do they actually have to prove that someone downloaded a copyrighted work from that shared folder before they can use this as evidence of copyright infringement? That kind of scares me if the first is true...
I have heard these commercials too in Texas and it really frustrates me.
Not only are ATT offering their OWN VOIP for sale (http://www.att.com/voip/) but they also are rolling out Fiber to the Premise which will have all the telecommunications running to the house on fiber plugged into an ATT installed battery backup inside the home.
So they really are discrediting their own services!
You forget that those bogus sites have ads on them. That is how they make money. They get a user to click thier link in the google search results, and when the user realizes that they aren't going to find the information they are looking for on that site, they might see an ad that looks like it might have the correct information and they click it. You and I would never do that... but obviously someone is.
Yea, right...
Name one Fortune 500 company that will let that type of clause into a salaried employees contract. There may be exceptions to the rule, but in most corporate situations, "Salaried" does not equate to 40 hour work weeks (even though it should).
How do you say that a message that informs ppl of a place to get the book for a cheaper price is "disguised as a legitimate post"? if the link went to goatse, that would be one thing, but it IS a legitimate post.
That rant at the beginning of your post makes no sense...(who said he was a server admin???)
Also: THAT WEBSITE is crap. Not Coldfusion. Saying that a language is bad because of one example of a really badly designed website is very immature.
It really sounds like you have never used coldfusion; its not a perfect language, but it is definately worth taking a look!
Your time is worth money, too.
That is something I never understood. Why would I want to waste a day making my computer work just as good as something i could have bought for $200 more?

If I were a company, and you were a reporter that was writing things I didn't like about me, why should I talk to you?
Yet, in vitro fertilization is ok? They attempt to fertilize many eggs in the hopes of getting a positive hit... same difference.
Yea, right...

Oh! Yea that explains it...
Very confusing to use "Desktop platform" to mean a laptop mobo in a desktop machine, but it makes sense now...
Thanks!
Which is it?
If you moved to a state that didn't use DST, what would you do with your TV and VCR then?
that is the most insightful thing i have read all week!
are you kidding me?
Coldfusion has session support built in.
It really bugs me when ppl put down a language without supporting their opinion.
Wow...

that really doesn't mean anything... they still have 200+ jobs listed in the US...
Why haven't the good folks at google figured out that putting a scale on a map makes sense?????????????
Really, how hard can it be? the map has to have that information stored internally... let us see it!!!
Judging by some of the comments around here, I don't think I would want to actually SEE any of the ppl involved with /.
Good point, I stand (sit) corrected...
I have never been lucky enough to witness the hard drive board catching on fire, but it doesn't sound fun!
My God...
Who really has "a badly grounded case" sitting anywhere????
That is not good for you, or your electronics. Wow.
They have already managed to do this.
It's called Lynx.
Some of us actually like functionality in our browsers...
AT&T is in the process of being merged into SBC... Its been a very public affair...
And thats what you call a great board????
Any board that requires soldering knowledge for it to work AS ADVERTISED is not what I consider good.
um, because the customer has configured outlook to work with another mail server? duh.
Your time is worth money, too.

You keep using That Word. I don't think it means what you think it means.
If you hack this box, and admit it, whats to stop them from locking you up?
