Very true. And that's why I have a GameCube. Nintendo has shown more innovation than just about any other game system manufacturer (aka Microsoft and Sony). Not only are the games unique (Zelda, anyone?), but the games on the other systems are mostly, well, generic (XBox has lots of sports and shooting games, PS2 has lots of racing games, etc).
At the rate Intel is keeping pace, by the time they get a 64-bit processor out with a unified socket, we'll be running Athlon 128's and dual dual core PowerMac G6's (also 128-bit)...sigh...
Get with the pace, Intel, and get a consumer 64-bit processor out! That way we get your P4's for cheap:D
All the text renders a bit off in FireFox...Wow, I never would have thought Microsoft would stoop so low to make other browsers view their page incorrectly! Not...
And guess what, it's not even properly coded! Take a look!

" You can most certainly install an application in Unix without needing an admin password. You just install it locally. Windows will ask you for a username and password if you attempt to run an install without having administrative rights. Of course many people just use accounts because it is easier. I have no confidence they wouldn't run as root if they had OS X or one of the Unices."
Simple: OS X does not allow you to set up a root account.
You can do it, but you have to go to Netinfo manager and set one up, and have to be a nerd to know how to log in to it (tell it to have you type username and password instead of click on it, and type root, otherwise it doesn't show up). The average user isn't confronted with the choice to be root user, and almost no Mac users run as root. Most Mac experts recommend never running as root- on the Macworld forums I once suggested someone fix a problem with an undeletable file by deleting it as root, and other people recommended not to do so because root is dangerous for a non-geek user (can delete system folder, for example).
A normal user has no clue there even exists the CHOICE of running as root- a nerd can figure out how to do it easily. The DEFAULT account in OS X is not root. On the other hand, the default account in Windows is an admin.

Quartz Extreme card? What's that? Maybe you mean any graphics card above 16 MB, which almost all macs have.
Which makes sense. Read the books. The Kessel Run is a special course around a cluster of hundreds of black holes...the closer you get to the black holes, the less amount of space you have to cross, but the more dangerous it gets.
(BTW I think it was 12 parsecs)
By going in less than 12 parsecs, Han went dangerously close to the black holes, closer than most other ships ever go.
" Continuity: Doc Ock pulls the giant sun ball and its support down onto himself, so he should be under it as they descend, yet in the final shot of him sinking into the ocean, the ball is below him and he is falling after it."
Perhaps I didn't get that good of a look at the scene, but it looked to me like the camera was BELOW Doc Ock and the sun ball above him. The writer thinks that the camera was ABOVE dock ock and the sun ball BELOW him.
Which one was it? Well, since Doc Ock was sinking TOWARD the camera, I would assume it was beneath him, therefore he is still beneath the sun ball.
Just what I need. Popups in my answering machine.
Can I get an anti-spam filter for my telephone?
Oh yeah, first post!
Sorry, but this is hilarious.

She just got Slashdotted.
That's probably worse than anything Penguin ever did in the way of traffic
"It also seems to last longer than the advertised 3hr battery life."
1G and 2G: Advertised life of 10 hours
3G: Advertised life of 8 hours
4G: Advertised life of 12 hours
Where's the advertised life of 3 hours?
Yet another somebody predicting the doom of the iPod...next?
Seriously, does EVERYONE have to predict the death of the iPod?
Funny. I wonder if you install 386to486, then 486toPentium, will your 386 be a Pentium?
Even better, can I download PentiumToPowerPCG5 anywhere? Now THAT'D be an upgrade!
Of course it's 88-bit.
It's just that you can only use 32 of the bits.
Would this technically be the first dual-processor console?
or at least the first dual-processor handheld?

Plus the GBA SP is just awesome.
Why would I want a 128-bit processor? ;) :D
Because then I'd be l33t
Coolness factor

I own every Nintendo system he used, and more :) (Gameboy, gameboy color, and gameboy advanced sp)
SCO can't seem to make up their mind on what they're suing about, can they...

A high-end G4 would be dual processor, and RISC, so the ghz requirement will likely be less and if its multithreaded, it should run fine.
Hm, maybe that's why HP is working with Apple on iTunes + iPod...Some "strongest partner".
Since Office Depot just announced they are going to be carrying Apple computers, does that mean I can trade in my stuff and get Macs? Niiiice... :)
" I do. And all I do is play games on both of them. (breakout on the ipod and solitaire on the ppc)"
;)
Why not just play solitaire on the iPod? It has it, you know
"his simply isn't true (at least not under XP). My main account is a regular user account, and I use it all the time."
Erm, the normal user account IS an Admin account in XP.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but wasn't Linspire BANNED in several European countries?
Therefore, wouldn't it be stupid to sell a computer in Europe running an OS that was banned in 3 different countries?
I can see this in the US...but in Europe?
