i agree. the first thing i plan to do when running all future microsoft OSs is to set it in the classic vs. there really seems to be no point in all of this eye candy except to get the "ooooh"s and "ahhhhh"s that will bring people to purchase their product. maybe if they didnt focus on the appearance so much, they wouldnt be calling for 5 GHz processors as a minimum system requirement for the OS. i understand that the requirements will have to get a little higher for each release, but come on!

You make a valid point, but unlike you, I have never followed an ad on a webpage intentionally. Ads interefere with what i am trying to do, whatever that may be. So either way, they are annoying, and have no effect on me personally. However, I imagine there are many others like you who follow ads looking for deals. If I want to purchase something, I look around for it myself at trusted sites, not by following ads.

  17. Cool, but unnecessary on Advanced Mobile Phone Tech in Japan · · Score: 4, Insightful

this seems like a pretty neat idea, but honestly, companies are dreaming up the wildest ideas these days. sometimes i think they are trying to "innovate" for publicity. i really could not think of a reason why i would want to buy a "phone" like this. telephones are just ways to converse, not to share the senses or whatever this is trying to achieve.

  19. Human destruction on A Completely Separate Ecosystem on Earth · · Score: 2, Insightful

Is there any place on earth that will remain pure and not affected by human destruction through its greed for knowledge? I don't think so. Especially since this issue doesn't seem to have even been debated or had the consequences considered. I understand the other side of this debate, that it is a "never-ending quest for knowledge," but there must be a way to gain knowledge without harvesting it from the earth without considering the consequences.

  20. unusual... on 3D, FPS File Manager · · Score: 0

this is a pretty neat idea, but truly a waste of time in reality. If you want to delete a file, you aren't going to fire up a game-type program and run around trying to navigate to the file to shoot it. You are going to open the folder, select it, and hit the delete key.

not to mention this little flaw: Be carefull when using BFM! Some weapons, such as the shotgun, have spread. So files you didn't really aim at might get ... wasted.
