Totally agree. I read this website to get relevant news for nerds and hear a somewhat diverse range of opinions from (hopefully) people with a perspective. The old slashdot wouldn't have let this crap slip through.
1) biometric finger print reader
2) cable lock for laptop and external monitor(they really are quite good)
3) pre boot authentication (integrated with finger pricnt reader)
4) full disk encryption - Utimaco Safeguard Easy (integrated with finger pricnt reader)
5) data dot dna (tiny dots with serial numbers that can be stuck/hidden on your equipment)
6) Computrace (software that cannot easily be removed and so when your stolen machine connects to the internet it will send its location to the computrace who will work with the ISP local law enforment to retrieve the stolen machine)
7) SafeEnd End point security, individually controls/records usb, i/o, ethernet ports
8) insurance
i got all this with my thinkpad, not because my co-workers are theives but because my companies insurance premiums are high and i have sensitive customer data on my machine which is required by law to be encrypted.
Well i just went and spent the last $5.15 that was outstanding in my account. Now if I here they are going to move the operation to another country and continue to trade as they have been (or for that matter stand and fight), I may just be tempted to put another $50 in my account as im sure they could use the cash for the move.. fingers crossed i guess.. I use their service a lot and guess what I dont have a problem paying a for music, i just believe allofmp3 is closer to a fair price that itunes et al.
you probably think the google-ebay deal was about advertising revenue. it was just to secure a supply of chairs for the upcoming carnage over at redmond.. with balmer pre-occupied with an endless supply of chairs to throw, google and apple will be free to take over the world! muhahahaaarrrggh!
Instead of directing to traffic to crappy ad-supported search tool, I would have sacrificed the.01 cameroonian peso for each clickthrough and redirect to a government tourism page. check out or tourisme.cm... the country looks amazing.
I'm sorry but the article has misquoted John Miller AOL CEO. His actual statement went more like this:
Following last nights board meeting, the AOL directors would like to confirm the rumours that we have decided to move away from our core business, the manufacture and distribution of drink coasters and frizbees. We are now seeking to restructure the relevant departments and pursue a profitable business model of providing our internet services at no cost to non subscribers. [ Long Pauses ] As a result we belive that within 6 months anyone in our employ today with half a brain will no longer be with the company....*phone rings* ahhh, hello?. yes Satan... sorry I gotta take this
a bit late but ive just seen this article on the front page of the sydney morning herald.
Aussie jailed in net lure sting
Lucas McKay DAVID BRAITHWAITE 2:33pm | Australian who emailed photos of his genitals to a US teen jailed after detectives posed online as a 14-year-old.

Patterson: I can't believe what I'm hearing. Homer: Well you better turn up your hearing aid, Pops! Patterson: Pops? I'm only 2 years older than you. Homer: Do we want old-man Patterson here with his finger on the button? Patterson: WHAT BUTTON!? What the hell are you talking about?! Homer: (mocking) Wha..wha..what button? Where am I? Who took my false teeth?
i guess fuckwits like you are the type that feel like they "need bombs". my bad, i would have thought you were a minority in the US but maybe im wrong. do you have weapons at home by any chance because you need them, or just because it makes you less scared of the society that you dont understand and dont seem to fit in to?
yeah my bro has one too. he loves it, only difference to yours is that his one has an fm transmitter so when he gets in the car he just tunes the cars radio into the right frequency and presto he can listen to his songs.
Im pretty sure alienware buy their notebook cases from clevo at least they definately used to, same as dell (for some models). then they just install standard components and badge them (same as dell). I guess that would mean you pay the premium for their after sales service, which if 3 weeks return to base, is correct then thats pretty much the same as dell too.
from my understanding there are about 4 true laptop manufacturers, all out of taiwan and most companies buy from them, i think only IBM have theri own manufacturer, but its more likely to be one of the 4 just they have an exclusive relationship on one product line.
i wish I had mod points, +5 for most sarcastic comment I've read ever.

think about finding the first occurrence of '0000' in the digit sequence of pi, and ask yourself how far out that is likely to happen
ahh, but pi is exactly 3!
Get back to me when they can generate 1.21 Giggawatts.. Until then, my Delorian stays in the garage.

Obligatory simpsons quote

actually yes. i went for a week and stayed for 3 years.. what can i say, im an aussie!
One week Lisa will be super smart and a veggie and the next week suddenly she's as dumb as Bart and eating a pork chop. So WTF?
If your after continuity then stop watching cartoons.
Someone please explain to me how this sort of thing is more popular than something with a real plot or something which is really funny?
If we all liked the exact same things then there would be only one tv channel and simpsons and futurama would be on 24/7
i guess fuckwits like you are the type that feel like they "need bombs". my bad, i would have thought you were a minority in the US but maybe im wrong. do you have weapons at home by any chance because you need them, or just because it makes you less scared of the society that you dont understand and dont seem to fit in to?
A new, more reliable weapon, they say, would help the nation reduce its stockpile
I just hate this logic and I cant even begin to explain why. It should be obvious.
because pirates are renowned for the quality control.

he bought it off ebay for less than $72 USD.

What ELSE could they say to spell it out? I don't get it.
"All Your Base Are Belong to Us".
Mohammed isnt Allah.
