As long as people MAKE race an issue, it will be one.
That is a good point, and true, but to quote George Santayana: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
It's hard to remember our past, while simultaneously moving on from it. Sometimes the horrors of the past act as motivation to move forward, but at the same time they give ideas to those who want to return to the ways of the past. It's just something that needs to be dealt with, same as any complex problem.
The "easy transfer tool" that they've included in the RC should take care of that handily. I used it when installing over XP. It's as simple as hooking up an appropriately capacious external drive, selecting the directories containing applications/data that you want migrated, and hitting "Go".
Once the Win7 install is up and running, just run the "easy transfer tool", select the backup file that was created, and hit "Go" again. Worked very well.
28 60, so still a good power savings. Plus, all of the CFL's I've bought in the last year don't have the same warmup problems that most of the early models had. They're not quite instant-on, but that's ok with me; I like that my bedside light comes on slowly in the morning, it's less of a shock to my eyes.
Will definately check that out when I get home (lerex.com is blocked as a "shopping" site at work). If I hadn't already commented on this article, I'd be modding you up right now.
In a just society, whoever leaked the film would lose their job, and not much (if anything) else. Unless, of course, this is an attempt at a "reverse Streisand" marketing move. In that case, genius move 20th Century Fox. You just garnered yourselves an untold wealth of free word-of-mouth, for a pretty damn good movie (not that I'd know...). This leak, weather by rogue employee or smart marketing team, will increase the box office receipts for the movie.
The difference here being that the Blu-Ray can be enjoyed by as many people as can fit in your living room, who can eat whatever food you manage to prepare, and drink whatever you choose to have on hand. Oh, and the movie starts exactly when you're ready for it to start, with the added benefit of not needing to search for a parking space on Friday nights.
This, compared to a movie theater that charges up to $10/ticket, $6-10 for popcorn, that much again for a ridiculously over-sized drink (and only at specialty theaters can you get a fracking beer), with the added detriment of the movie starting whenever it best works into the theater's schedule. Of course, you can sneak in your own food/drinks (much easier in the winter when wearing a big poofy coat doesn't look odd), but the fact remains that this is against the rules, and the theater could toss you out if they felt like it.
That said, the upfront cost of putting together a home theater to give a comparable viewing experience to a cineplex is not insignificant. I figure at least:
$800-1,000 - Good quality HDTV, 40+ inches (size depending on viewing distance)
$200-400 - Blu-Ray player
$500+ - Audio setup, including speakers and receiver (much less than $500 and you're likely buying shit)
$500+ - Good quality couch (possibly the most important component)
---------
$2,000+ for initial setup. Of course, a lot of this is standard fare for a lot of living rooms as it is (who doesn't have a couch, or at least a giant beanbag sack thing?). It's also nice to have for playing video games and hosting parties, so there's a value-add.
Contradicting myself, I do have to admit that there's no experience to match going to a midnight opening of a film with a good fanbase (Star Wars, Harry Potter, select superhero films, etc.)
I, for one, welcome CADIE, and would like her to know that I love Pandas, and would be perfectly satisfied with her as our new overlord, should she choose to install herself into such a position.
I'm thinking that this is more in competition with the iPod Touch, rather than the iPhone.
If you want to go with WWAN though, the iPhone also has something that the DSi doesn't have: a monthly fee.
I've got a 7yr old Saturn with a 5yr old MP3/CD player (nothing too fancy, CD deck cost It's also common for FM stations to drop to mono when driving under or parallel to power lines, sometimes with bits of static popping in. I'm considering upgrading to "HD" radio now that most stations around here broadcast that way.
Recently I've been seeing Venus (from suburban Denver) in the western sky nearly every night. If I know where to look, I can usually make it out in the early morning when the sun is still on the opposite side of the sky.
I think that GP was kidding. I hope.
Regardless, his point stands: soda tastes best out of glass bottles, when available.
This is Slashdot. Stealing a frog from the lab is the closest thing to a girlfriend he's likely to get for a long, long time.

At age 20, you play "Paperboy".
At age 60, you play "Shoot the damn paperboy for riding his bicycle on your lawn and breaking your window every morning."

Microsoft calls that "Windows Media Center"
Sounds like you've got an overheating issue. Vacuum out the dust, and/or check that all the fans are working. Maybe get an extra case fan.
Exactly. Area 34 is where the government has multi-petabyte archives of all the internet porn.
Percentage of Slashdot readers who RTFA when it's in English: less than 10%
Percentage of Slashdot readers who RTFA when it's != English: less than 2%
(These numbers based on my own estimations, with zero research to back them up)
Trust me, I'd prefer to. Unfortunately, my boss seems to think that I need to be to work at 8am, when I'm obviously more awake and active at 8pm.
Hilarious, pointless, and likely to destroy somebody's life?

It's sickening how the government will instantly bend over backwards for big business. Pathetic.
Big Business is to Government, as Hot Chick is to Sweaty Fanboy
Wow, good thing you weren't in a high-level government position any time between 1950 and 1992...

It was a bad joke.
I don't see a problem here. They were obviously just trying to help the economy.
At least the spoiler he gave isn't that far off for you, only a few more episodes.
Now, you've got about 30 hours to watch 23 episodes + Razor + webisodes before the finale tomorrow night.
Better go get some energy drinks.

They also develop better hand-eye coordination, a foundation of stabbing abilities.
^^sarcasm
I can see not hearing a difference between mp3 and CD, but can you really not tell (and aren't bothered by) the difference between a CD and FM?
I mean this sincerely and with jealousy: Ignorance really is bliss.
