"We would have even less arthritis if people didn't buy into jogging as some health benefit. It just kills your joints."

Most common forms of arthritis are either caused by an immune system malfunction (causing the immune system to attack otherwise healthy joints) or by an infection. Jogging is a high impact exercise, and as such if you already suffer from arthritis it may accelerate the disintgration of the joints but it does not cause arthritis. The high impact nature of jogging is one of its main advantages in a person with healthy joints as it accelerates growth in the impact area.

There are many TV/DVB cards that do their processing in software, it's probably one of these cards that you're refering to rather than somehow forcing a hardware decoding card to output the unprocessed data. I can easily receive the encrypted DVB-T channels with my Hauppauge Nova-T USB device (though I've made no effort to try and decrypt them).

3D does work on ATI cards (at least using the open source driver) for large screen resolutions using MergedFB. You're correct that there is a limit to area for 3D support, but a higher resolution still works, it's just only applications within that region have working 3D acceleration (anything outside that region just appears black).

H5N1 the strain of avian flu that has people so worried has been infecting humans since 1997 and has a mortality rate of over 50% (after having infected a total of around 120 people). Since 1997 it's been combatted by massive cullings in all areas where outbreaks have been found (among birds). Currently it can only infect humans directly from birds through eating undercooked poultry. What people are worrying about is a strain that can be transmitted directly between humans, this has yet to happen.
