There are moments when I wish they'd sell me mine. I don't telephone to myself all that often, and so have trouble remembering it. Of course I'm quite old myself .... so maybe I should do like the Koreans. (I thought it was old Japanese people who would sell you your telphone number so that you might telephone ..... yourself. But excuse me, I'm just confused)

I've seen the same thing in France - but on a smaller scale, of course. There used to be small, local ISP's around here. They were all bought over or just run out of the business by nation-wide or european companies. The "personal touch" with real, knowlegeable people on the telephone disappeared with the local ISP's. Now, for the same big company, the service you get depends on where you are in the country. We seem to be into technical support ignorance with really heavy Indian accents too.

I agree - what are we going to do if Bill decides not to help us keep viruses (or virii) off of our systems? If we get serious for a moment though, I read of "stack attacks" which lead to DOS problems (and that's Denial Of Service). I still agree with you - Bill is not going to be much help with this, but it a problem that worries me.

Don't really mind who does it. Gnome or just a GPL version. I think I read a suggestion on /. regarding a GPL licensed version called Gonad. The splash screen was to announce "GONAD! Microsoft, don't you wish you had one ?!!" Don't care who does the work, but I think the splash screen should be kept. Complementary copy to Bill. Just my idea .. my deux centimes as you chaps say.

Could this solution be used to "arrange" some of the more "unfit" users ? There are days when I ..... and I could sing too. Just a thought, excuse it please. Sorry.
