I haven't been able to confirm your statement about Havok being exclusive to Lucasarts for 2009, but the Havok engine has been around since 2000 and has been used by over 100 different games, so it is by no means just recently available.
You have far too much faith in old-fashioned keys. Locks are there to keep honest people honest."
The thing about bypassing conventional locks is that you need to have a reasonable amount of knowledge about the type of lock and how to pick or bump or what have you. You also need some physical tools which have to be custom made or at least are not carried by your local hardware shop. When something like the security on this wireless electronic lock becomes hacked, any 16 year old with a jailbroken iphone who downloads "an app for that" will be able to bypass any of these locks.
In addition to your reasons already listed, the durability of the iPhone (water and shock damage) also make it a poor key device.
Microsoft was in discussions with GLAAD when they initially enacted the ban and GLAAD was _IN SUPPORT_ of it. The ban was originally enacted because of derogatory MISUSE of the terms. Microsoft was not trying to hold back legitimate use of the terms. It was a nuke from orbit since derogatory use was so rampant.
This DRM crack benefits legitimate consumers as well, since you can apply it to a legitimate copy of the game. Pirates have INCREASED the value of the software by allowing it to work offline.
If future touch devices are designed to detect pressure then this problem could be easily remedied. Similar to the pen on a Wacom drawing tablet, you could have a light touch & drag be the mouse cursor, and more pressure could indicate a click.
I don't know what you're talking about. It's impossible to write bad software for a Mac, OS X doesn't allow it. Macs also can't get viruses or malware, they never crash, and they make me popular at my local Starbucks while I write my screenplay.
One of the main benefits to a dedicated e-reader is that they have e-ink displays which are much easier on the eyes for extended reading than the brightly lit display of, say, an iPad.
Even when there are proper justifications for discrimination, the feel-gooders will still fight for the right for everyone to be treated equally, despite not being equal.
Sounds to me like you're the propaganda machine here. There is nothing new or shocking about U.S. export laws preventing companies like google from offering certain types of services or software to certain countries.
The postcard analogy works for man-in-the-middle attacks since email is normally sent in plaintext, and anyone who happens to be sniffing wireless packets (hey those wireless packets entered my home, so it is within my right, right?) can glance at the email and view it by chance. I guess this works if you are on a wired network that is using hubs, because the data is being sent to your computer anyway
They compared two different compression methods at two different bit-rates. While this is ok for saying "X people think Product A sounds better than Product B", it is not very scientific to say that people can't tell the difference from X bit-rate and Y bit-rate.
It would be interesting if they could draw a link between schizophrenia and long-term family history of smoking. If ones ancestors were physically addicted to nicotine then perhaps it could manifest in children after a few generations.
I like how generic piracy is lumped together with counterfeiting, which could include the printing of several billion dollars... I wonder how much money/jobs software piracy alone is estimated to cost.
It seems like a good alternative solution would have been to pool up all the refund money and make an offer to the real copyright owner for all the current ebook "owners" to keep their copy, and then not sell any new ones
It's only just recently become available.

is there any advantage to fail2ban over denyhosts ?

"Oh, sorry, your Genetic Rating (tm) says you probably won't live long enough to pay us back, can't help you with that new car".
If someone won't live long enough to pay back a loan, isn't that a good reason to deny someone a loan?

Maybe the group that has math anxiety has it because they suck at math.
by the government or a famous athlete
It's still a bad joke that he was dying to get out, but at least it makes slightly more sense.

This will take quite some time to take off.

Imagine how much it would suck to be a cow if they DID have inner pain receptors. Being devoured live by wolves and such...

It gives MS more time to catch/fix bugs found by the early adopters before the general public has to pay out cold hard cash for the product.

I'd like to have one to wear for when I go drinking, as I usually end up somewhere I don't remember being!
Shouldn't this read "Obama wins the Nobel Hope Prize" ?

I fail to see how Amazon fighting for it's customers ability to retain information they purchased admits any wrongdoing on Amazon's behalf.
