yes but he didn't compromise them, he found them in that condition. I'm not saying he's not guilty of trespassing but a lighter sentence would do just fine. Now he's pretty much dead.
I've said this on digg and i'll say it here again, he didn't hack anything. In his interviews it was said that the systems were already compromised and were being used by people from eastern european countries. I commend him for seeking the truth but not for going about it idiotically. In any case he doesn't deserve anything more than a few months in jail (if that even, better in a halfway house if there are such things in the UK), probation, and community service.
This has gotten way out of proportion. He didn't even do anything to damage US operations nor was this even his intent, he's not a terrorist and had no malicious intent. I would rather make sure those idiotic sysadmins never worked in IT for the rest of their lives since they left administrator passwords open! Freakin morons.
wanted: auto variable complete and intellisense

I want auto variable complete in c mode, perl mode, c++ mode, ruby mode, python mode, and any other programming language mode (similar to word complete in openoffice). Visual Studio 2005 has this for c, c++, and it's.net languages. Oh and a intellisense type thingy wouldn't hurt either.
SGI made some rock solid products. I still run NFS servers off of indigo2's with 1 year+ uptimes. Octane's and Octane2's are still used as workstation where I work too. They were probably the first to use heatpipes in their coolers for their graphics XIO boards. If you need to replace anything, it's all modular, and you can take the whole things apart and replace each single component. I love the box designs too (though they way a ton). I hope they will still continue to be dominant in HPC. If you haven't run programs on a 8 way Altix / Itanium2 you don't know what you're missing.
So I skimmed over the article pictures and didn't read every bit so I don't know if this was done by the store manager or not, but this is what I would have done:
1) Announce the following on the Best Buy intercom (if there is no store wide intercom, they should really invest in one):
"Dear Best Buy customers and employees, there seems to be an elaborate social engineering prank occurring in the store. It's not a coincidence that there are many people in the store wearing blue polo shirts without best buy tags and khaki pants. If they do not have a best buy tag do not ask them questions about products or store policies."..simply repeat every hour or so, until they seem to be mostly gone.
..especially the last fight scene...What more could you expect. I love to see new blockbuster scifi movies no matter how much they suck..because at least they spur my imagination.
..well at least a good day if you own RHAT stock, it is up nearly 10% (http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=rhat). Let's see what happens at the end of the day.

The point is (YOU STUPID MORON) that who else out there is looking out for our privacy rights/constitutional rights in the US? Not you obviously. Would you have even heard about this piece of information without the EFF? The bottomline is that there is nothing to win or lose, it's a constant battle. Simply getting this piece of information out to the public is a victory in and of itself.
The argument that a workstation card would suck at playing games couldn't be farther from the truth. Have you guys actually tried playing games on quadros and firegl's ?
Do you have the market share numbers prior to the merger for hitachi, fujitsu, toshiba, western digital, maxtor, and seagate? Am I missing any other HDD company?

your comment has made my head explode. don't fascists and totalitarians want uniformity?

The majority of chinese politicians have engineering degrees.
What about the statistics from chinese websites? That "top 10" list hasn't a clue.

Have you head of BlueArk? What do you think about their SAN's ?
got some buggy code to back up your statement?
Yes when i get my datacenter I will have multiple sunfires, by then with optical processors pushing quantum bits.

japan is on DC power, or at least their power is transfered over lines in DC.
which I used to connect to internet services such as archie, veronica, and gopher on a remote VMS system.
Is the test for DNA the same as the test for RNA? DNA evolved from RNA, could the cells use this as an information carrying medium?
