How about just not doing anything wrong in the first place and putting some belife in the judicial system, im not sure about you yanks, but i know that i generally trust the judicial system over here in the good ol' UK.

Hell, if they are searching me im pleased i dont know about it, as if i did, and i was some guy planning to blow my self up inside a place with lots of other people, i know i would try alot damn harder to NOT let them know im going to.

Anyone concidered that people have always been addicted to this stuff (blogging is just online voicing of opinions which is pretty much the same as people adicited to writing into magizines (hell i was addicted to writing into a page which displayed on teletext at one point)), its just now that its all digital and online, its far far eaiser to gauge numbers than ever before.

Just pretty much like however they survey anything, and then get a "real" number from somewhere else, the "real" number of people effected by something is always far higher than any survey has ever said. This is party due to facts like people like to questionaires and other forms of monitoring dont always catch people who are out of the system (1.5million homeless in london anyone;?).

    Just a wild thought....

    MASKING TAPE!

The true geeks tool. I have 2x4plug powerstrips behind my desk, this has my monitor and pc plugged in then many more others.

I have just ran these altogether around the back of my desk, and coming up the side. Then i've banged aload of masking tape over the lot, holding it all perfectly in place. I can't charge everything at the same time, but i never normally need to.

Works for me even if it does look crap!

Oh and im lazy, how do i use google talk with gaim?

It has a small opensource client which runs in lots of mp3 players, it sends the info of the songs to their database giving you a massive list of which songs you listen to etc etc and reccomends more etc.

    Awesome stuff :P

"As Lost Circuits points out, power consumption worldwide has been exploding as more CPUs come online and the CPU power requirements increase so a significant power reduction will reduce the burden on electrical grids everywhere."

Erm? As more cpus? Or cpus with stupidly high power usage.

Someone once told me that 7/10ths of the world doesn't have a phone line, let alone a computer. Now your telling me that the power usage of the world has increased due to all these people getting computers? I seriously doubt it.

How about all these people are finally getting electric to their houses? They finally have eletric kettles, ovens, irons, microwaves...

Im not saying that a lower usage cpu wouldn't make a difference, but im saying its going to make a very small difference compared to somethings.

Plus its going to be a LONG while before we see any difference. The only chips really to take the pi££ when looking at powerusage are the top end P4s, not like teh A64s etc are as bad as these?

As newer low powerchips are already out i doubt the p4's are going to make much of a impact either way.
