If the site gets hacked, what difference does it make if you have a strong password? It appears that nothing is really safe. Tell me again how cloud services are supposed to work??
Think of all the old data you have lying around "saved" on CDs. Can you get to any of it? Do you know where anything is anymore? It is just too much trouble to find some particular file. A railroad car jammed with books is even worse. Can't find anything; can't even get to books in the middle of the plastic wrapped blocks. Wife wants me to get rids of my books. I'm keeping them.
My favorite is BMW advertising that they use organic alcohol in their car-care products. I'd hate to use that inorganic alcohol stuff on MY car!
In other environmental news, Poland Spring bottled water now is greener than ever since they have reduced the height of the cap on their plastic bottles: "Smaller Cap=Less Plastic!". The cap is now a choking hazard.
I can buy unpasteurized milk (and maybe yogurt) at the local farmers market, but I think you are right about the cheese (and butter).
FYI and off topic: Taste testers at America's Test Kitchen showed that organic milk has a taste inferior to "normal" milk because it has to be pasteurized at a higher temperature.
All solid state cameras already have an IR cut filter because the color filter arrays are transparent in the IR. It just depends where the cutoff wavelength is set. You can always add an additional filter.
Sorry, but reality intrudes.
Hawaii has geothermal sources, lots of sun, lots of wind, lots of waves. Electricity is produced largely by burning imported oil and naphtha. Geothermal has been unreliable and costs the same as fossil fuel electricity (by contract). Disturbing volcanoes is considered bad karma. Windmills are rusting, Solar is too expensive unless you are making a political statement. A ferry between the islands was considered to be environmentally bad (whales and fish) so I can't imagine the protests over a wave-powered electrical plant.
Popular Science is the kiss of death for technology. Anything you see in there will most likely never happen. Where are the underwater cities powered by superconducting cables?
I read somewhere that there are more books translated into Spanish in a year than have been translated into Arabic EVER. How else can you keep your 16th century mentality intact? (With apologies to my Iranian friends who don't deserve the current political situation.)
I have to agree with the kid-conduit idea. I let my granddaughter on my machine for 30 minutes and I spent the rest of the day trying to undo all the garbage she clicked on.
Anyone who told me they were "indispensable" ended up getting fired. Either you are not really indispensable or the company will fire you anyway because they are not too bright. The company will tell you that you are special, but only at your going away party.
Clearly you haven't seen the Honda Civic ad with the zombie owner driving his new Honda. He goes to a singles bar and to the driving range to practice golf. With these talents, the avenues for infection are greatly expanded.
Using chaos to describe a double pendulum is exactly right!
Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for an imaginary monocle.

This is going to be just as disruptive as the Segway. But less disruptive than the Fiat 500.

Your RequestPolicy Firefox plugin is blocking it.
OK. Kyocera 135W panel is more than $300 is still a square meter in area and weighs 27lbs. http://sunelec.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=571 Unisolar flex cells are $210 for 68W so you need two of those. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=flexible+solar+cells&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=1196353780637427779&sa=X&ei=-mzrTc_VOYPegQeZ3P3YCQ&ved=0CHsQ8wIwAg
voilà
Just silly. A 150W solar panel costs $530 and is a square meter in area: http://www.ecrater.com/p/5169726/sunflex-grade-a-150w-mono-solar# It's too big and too expensive even without the extra battery.
Didn't pasteurization become routine because people died from contaminated raw milk?

He will be in bad shape by the time the iPad13 comes out.

If you can't drink milk, then don't drink it. Leave the rest of us alone. And of course babies drink milk all the time.
Black electrical tape will fix that spying camera in 5 seconds.

Providing a list of sources for potentially damaging information looks like a security risk to me!
He will eventually turn into Michael Jackson.

So used cars should be illegal in order to prop up new car sales? Not happening.
