we live in amazing times. the release cycle says 2 to 3 times a year . fedora is bleeding edge and the advancement in project packages is faster . i still dont think there as fast as they should be . ubuntu is even more up to date as far as gnome. when linux started,cycles were slow but with the advances in projects,community and more money...here they come
how many times do you hear about a new release of internet explorer ? not in along time until firebox built a fire under there ass at ms and the they went to I.e. beta 7 . that's why its note worthy and extraordinary

i agree michael robertson has pointed this out and even though i dont agree with him 100 percent on things...a few things i think he's dead on. like puting open office linux on cd and selling it in a retail outlet . i think that just simple ideas like this is what linux needs to become more main stream and his efforts has pushed this . selling hardware and having people who know what there talking about as a sales person instead of the same ole tired reply " as store policy we only support windows .
