About your comment, whats your problem? I see you have a ton of posts "oh yeah?","No he did not", "You got it wrong", "Why should we?" etc. You sure seem to add a lot to Slashdot.

Have you used a RAZR? Have you even seen one? Not that I really want to talk to such an interesting person, but name some of the weaknesses you feel it has. We all know its only got limited storage, but its enough for some great mp3 ringtones. We know its got a vga camera. We know it doesnt cure cancer. But I love my V3. I really do. I I I I I I. I love the word "I".

About your term "botique" about the V3, I have one, and I love it. Its not a 3G phone, and only vga camera, but I strongly reccomend that everyone should get one! I love my V3 like I love my iPod, I get a kick when I see someone else with a V3, in my town of 60K, there are only a couple, I know its an old phone, but its still great!

It is interesting, the lower half of the V3 is plastic to help with the signal and what have you. Wonder if this helps dissipate a current through your arm?

    Hey guys,

Whats with us, I thought /. was for nerds? How come every discussion of the iPod, which is still every other day, we have the same arguements. Again and again. And again.

Examples like "iPod locks you to iTunes music store/iTunes the program", and that "iPods can actually play many open formats, like mp3......." etc? God, its 2006, "the consumers still pissed, can't take it anymore so i'm writing a list...", how so many of us dont know what the iPod CAN and CAN'T do?

I love my iPod dearly, wouldnt part with it for 10K, still rocking on my 15GB 3G, with like 2 hours of battery life.

Back to my "own" opinion, whats the Mini better at? I dont like the shape at all, whenever I held one for a period of time, it felt a lot worse than my 3G iPod, the rounded sides were egh compared to the whole slick surface of my iPod. Screen, size, everything, the Nano is better.

Please point out what you prefer about the Mini.

  9. Mobile Phone Music Stores on The Latest iPod Assassination Attempt · · Score: 1

Here in NZ, Telecom offers a music download service, so far supported on ONE phone, the Sanyo 9000 (could have a different name in America, Japan...)

The songs are $3.50 each, a half-arsed conversion would be something like two dollars american.

The songs "download in a minute or less", but here comes the kicker, "1000 songs on a GB card", so that means the songs are a MB each?!!! a full song, taking a MB? I know that Telecom tells you to backup to your pc, but YOU CANNOT PLAY YOUR SONGS ON YOUR COMPUTER, so it could be some queer format.

I dont think the price is overly expensive, I think "tru-tones", which are like chorus long song snippets, were $5 nz.

the Telecom website is www.telecom.co.nz, I would link direct, but my slow as hell dial up....(NZ is very backwards in Broadband generally, low uptake etc, mainly due to Telecom restricting its growth for whatever reason, this has been a very big upset in NZ news, hopefully I can get it covered on /.)

I guess its a popular term in many countries. I personally HATE the term Clamshell that is used by Yank sites. I think of a rancid shellfish.

Someone who calls another nation of people "fucksticks" is hardly someone who deserves to be modded up as insightful! I can be flamed to hell for this, but no fucking wonder these impoverished people hate America, or, perhaps what America is/stands for... is because of attitudes of people like yourself.

Remember YOUR constituition, perhaps theres a RIGHT to wielding NUKES?! New Zealand has always been proudly "green", ie, totally against all forms of Nuclear energy, which I personally would be fine with, but it looks good morally, why do we need nukes? An old movie, WarGames, showed decades ago, that "the only way to win, is to not play" etc. Really, what do you think will happen when one country launches a nuclear attack on another? That country would fight back, if you Americans would let them have their nukes. What will you do to prevent that? Completely destroy that country in one fell swoop? Nuke all that nations allies worldwide?

I remember iTunes before iPod, it was decent enough. Today, from my experiences, iTunes is the best digital jukebox. At a friends party, they were using WMP, I quickly whipped out my trusty RunDisk and installed iTunes. I very quickly managed to get all their music going through iTunes, and the party was that much better because of it. My friends of course, asked "what the hell is that", and claimed they prefered WMP! I guess you cant help everyone! Of course, I live in New Zealand, where WE DONT HAVE iTMS yet, so I understand if I do get flamed to hell from commenting. Why would you want to use other Music Stores, because they are cheaper? Do some have exclusives? Subscription model? If so, why not stay with THAT store? I recently read that Sony had joined the party with the Australian store, they had been sulking for a while, but iTMS Australia was going fine (from what I know) without any Sony pop artists! I heard rumours (again) that NZ would get iTMS before the end of this month. I can only dream its true this time.
