Correct me if I'm wrong, but this sounds like a software patch fix here. Change the block size, or re-write the fs manager. One way or another a software patch would accomplish a fix to this easily.
Bah, everyone knows if you have a cookie and no one to eat it you still have a cookie... Try baking them at home, but have no one to eat them when done... The universe doesn't collapse...
You said, "...when Palm just announced that the releasedate of the TREO 650 is being pushed back from October to January".
Where exactly did you find this info on the pushback till January?
Let me explain myself then. Although broadcast!= cable as you point out, cable and sat have to pay fees to re-transmit the broadcast feeds to all the subscribers. Thus as their costs go up, so do the costs of their services... I just left that step out of my explanation...
Accept for one problem. We raise the costs to the broadcasters, they'll raise the costs to the viewers. Either the cost of cable and sat will go up, or the cost of advertisments will go up and thus the cost of the items we buy. It'll all screw us in the end. At least we'd have rights to force better service though.
I believe you are incorrect about the reason being a pin in the BT card not being connected.
The point was that the Treo hardware (motherboard) can not access the voice data from the Qualcom modem board directly. It's sent out via the speaker without any connection to the motherboards data lines. Thus it was not possible to re-route this voice signal to the IO card socket.
Of course with the new recording abilities of the Treo it's arguable that you could record the audio and play it to the SD card, but the signal loss would have been high.
While this might seem to be a problem in the future considering the hacking attempts, keep in mind it's always as simple as unplugging and/or flipping a switch to disable internet control while you are home...
The scary thing is this is almost exactly what it's coming to. The more systems that one has password access to, the more likely that he/she will begin to choose passwords that have some correlation to that system.
I mean accept the fact that good computer users that understand security will never use the same password twice (given this might not happen, but consider it). How many systems does the average IT tech have access to? Include all forums you have to log in to, and everything else that uses a password. I personally would have to memorize almost 32 passwords and be able to remember all of them at any given time.
The sheer quantity of security measures will be what destroys security.
But with SCO's constantly making the news headlines and "Geek" news their stock isn't really likely to do what we all expected it to (plumet into oblivion). It's more likely that they will ride this out and keep the company at an average level in the stock market. I'd suggest a greyhound track, at least it would be a more worthy cause than SCO...
No you freakin idiot, the xbox most certainly uses a NORMAL freakin DVD-rom drive and thus reads normally. You are an idiot, and if you can't accept that you are wrong you should go to church or something!:)
I find it rather interesting nobody yet posted shadowmite's own website: www.shadowmite.com
I was just pissed that stargate wasn't on... How can you NOT AIR the series that makes your network famous!?!

Just goes to show why you need to use "nice" more often...
Look at the bright side, they destroyed netscape... They'll do us a favor!
It's only pre-marital sex if you plan on getting married...
That's just great, a cure that US Law will say we can't experiment with... Back to the drawing board...

Well I'm glad to see Corsair made it, according to the cheater post. But the site is not responding... Hmm...

Thank you for posting this, for those of us who like to be lazy and who only enforce the slashdot effect by point and click, you've saved the day!
I don't know... I've managed 4 times the limit before, but that's only possible because the school zone lights were flashing...
Looks like it didn't help; I can't get threw anymore...
