I can't get it to work when I copy paste from Wired (must be something with my setup and javascript) but I will make the unpopular statement of saying that 1) you are copying and pasting Wired's content and 2) as early as high school I was taught that if I was copying information verbatim, I had better have some sort of reference (MLA preferred)....
Maybe you should of read the article.
The problem wasn't with copying and pasting, the problem is that when you highlight something, it sends that info to tynt about what you highlighted. Thats the privacy invasion peeps are complaining about.
So let me get this straight. Because there are websites that are doing shady stuff with the text I select and such, you want me to install a Firefox Extension that theoretically won't do anything shady with my stuff, even though its license consists of
Source code license for Ghostery 2.0.2 Copyright Ghostery, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
And there's no source available.
Why should we trust the people behind Ghostery any more than a random website out there? If you're writing software to protect privacy and prevent data snooping, why make people trust more closed-source software?
Hey boys! This feller here is calling himself "IT Ninja" but he doesn't know the difference between java and javascript! I say we run him outa slashdot!
Hey boys! This feller here don't know how to use Quote Parent properly. So now we don't know which post he is referring to. I saw we run him outa slashdot!

I'm pretty sure Kodak just rebrands crappy products from China. Does anyone actually buy Kodak digital/computer equipment?
Kodak used to be great, but they haven't done much in a long time.
I'm pretty sure God beat you with the stupid stick.
The world does NOT evolve around what you buy, or how you think crap is being used.
So to answer your questions, Yes, people do buy Kodak's products. And parts are most likely made in China/Hong Kong/Taiwan, but from what I found, is assembled here in America.
As for them "used to be great, but they haven't done much in a long time." only goes to show how stupid you are. Because you don't use their product, don't mean shit. You've already proven you can't grasp normal concepts.
You'd see they are still putting out products, and from what I can tell, nice stuff.
I guess I could give you some credit, since you must think they are just about camera's, but i'm not going to. You could of corrected the misconception just viewing their website.
When I read a rumor that mostly fat people were dying from swine flu, it gave me the motivation to lose weight. I went from obese to normal weight in nine months. Now I feel stronger because I am not carrying around 50 pounds of ballast.
That's the only good thing that has come of the media scare about swine flu.
hmm, I read a rumor that only stupid people react to rumors.
I ignored it of course, but you make me think there's something to that.
You know, I love my Amigas. Have a 1200, a 1000, and a bunch of 3000 boxes.
but talk about a computer with so much promise and serious epic fail.
Here's what I don't understand.
Why back when, when whomever bought and decided to go with some non common (and expensive) hardware to keep the Amigas alive past it's prime, what the hell they were thinking?
Seriously, The Amigas natural procession (IMO) would of been a desktop/workspace over a linux kernel.
Don't worry about backwards compatability, seriously, screw it.
of course, now it's too late to do that, and I guess they are sort of trying a work around.
I don't know what the repercussions are in Denmark but here in the US when you see FBI warnings before a movie stating you'll be fined $150,000 and 10 years in a PMITA prison... I'd rather just keep my mouth shut and let someone who actually got caught challenge the system.
And it's because of views like yours that the world gets into the mess it's in.
They were his machines to configure, as a technology supervisor. It's not like he hacked into the machines in the dark of night to set things up on the sly. Sure, his configuration may have been a failure as far as the business needs of the school system were concerned, but when TFA is claiming "there may be charges filed!!"...
Look, kids, it's a 1-million-dollar civics lesson. "Screw up in county-level government, and we'll sic the cops on you and paint you up as a UFO-worshipping freak or something." Uh-huh. And they wonder why the school systems of the nation can't hire anyone competent.
um, who paid the electricty? Who paid for the computers? Who paid for the repair & upkeep of those computers?
Had some stupid music class we had to take, and they were giving us a test. a group of had decided to purposely flunk the test. Well, ends up I was the only one who purposely flunked the test.
Sure, maybe I was an idiot for thinking they do it to, or maybe I was just someone talked into it because I was a bit naive. But what it did was tell me not to trust the word of anyone.
Dude is posing. He's apparently too told to figure out how to make money in the modern day, and wants to be remembered or something.
Life is evolution. Life constantly changes. You gotta just accept it.
No one is going to pay for news. seriously, no one wants to pay for anything now.
Some peeps are saying they would lose money on them.
Yes, they would. But thats a marketing style. They are looking over the long term, not short term.
You get a google netbook. You'll most likely be running ChromeOS, so they just took a sale away from MS. your going to use it as a browser, to use internet apps. Which is oddly enough what google is pushing.
This is a way of them locking down customers. and honestly, I approve.
You don't like the ads, don't take the device. Or if your into hardware hacking, nothings better then free hardware.
and people, netbooks are "net" books. basicly a modern terminal. These are not laptop replacements. I'm sure most of you realise that, but damn there's a lot of peeps who don't understand that concept...
... I can flick my wrist and check the time in under a second. It takes a good 10 seconds to fish my phone out of my pocket and unlock it, esp if I'm in a car and the pocket isn't at a great angle for phone removal.
guess you need a better phone. i don't have to unlock mine to see what time it is.
Disney's attitude toward digital media has changed a lot for the better since Eisner fucked off out and Steve Jobs became Disneys biggest shareholder after the pixar purchase.;-)
I seriously hate this crowd, When I was to post something about why doesn't Jobs do something at Disney about DRM, I get modded down for him only owning 7% and has no say in the companies activities.
However, when someone tries to put this to Job's name, everyone mods it up as fast as possible. Surely it can't be both ways?
Okay, I see a few problems.
1. You check to see how your modded. 2. You need to learn how to state stuff better. 3. You actually care about what peeps on the internet thinks about you. 4. You are whining about crap you can't control.
While advertising makes it look like BluRay has won last I checked it had a big 8% market share. It isn't exactly hot. I personally never plan on owning one and am going to skip over it.
Well, I have a 1080p HDTV.
While stuff in DVD format looks fine, stuff in 720p or even better 1080p look really fucking great.
It's like the difference between a handjob and a great blowjob.
Yes, DVD looks better then VHS on standard TV's. Bluray doesn't look that much different then DVD's on standard TV's, but then Bluray isn't made for standard TV's.
While I don't give a flying fuck on how you want to watch your tv/movie programs, until you play it how it's supposed to be played, you won't know how good it really is.
Of course, i don't own a bluray player, because I'm a cheap bum who downloads everything. proudly.
>>>Delay in distribution means more people pushed to torrents.
No because they are cracking-down on that avenue. I just received my 3rd copyright notice this past week (1 and 2 date back to Christmas 2008), and I've been told #4 will result in termination of my Verizon account. So bottom line: People will soon be faced with having to wait for the delayed DVD rental, or purchase it now.
Also:
This isn't the first time movie studios have pulled stunts like this. Back in the early 90s when VHS was king, my local video store told me I could buy Disney's Aladdin but it would cost $90. I asked why the outrageous price, and they explained the price is kept high for one month to encourage rentals..... and then dropped to a more-reasonable $25.
Movie studios are always trying to control the free market. Record companies too. They forced Walmart, Kmart, and other retailers to stop selling CDs at budget prices of $8 or $9, raise the minimum price to $13, or else the record companies would stop shipments. This continued from circa 1990 to 2000 when the U.S. DOJ stepped-in and sued the record companies for forming an illegal Cartel. (My family, collectively, received five checks of $19 each as settlements.)
You can't trust corporations. They are filled with avarice, love of money, and will do what is necessary to increase it.
Um, you get notices because you are a stupid idiot who didn't do his research on how to keep those from happening.
torrents are still going strong, but it's cool if the idiots (like you) think otherwise.
Did you bother doing any research on how to avoid those notices? If you had, you'd see it's really easy.
It's you beginner criminals that crack me up. Whats the difference between successful criminals and you? You assume your safe "because others are doing it". Successful criminals take the time to study what they are doing, learn how it works, then they do what they got to do.
oh, ya, you end up in jail right away, why the successful ones don't.
We're not a big company, and I can tell you I'm the only Tynt guy commenting here. Derek
sucks to be you

Just because you can read the code doesn't mean it's not closed-source.
Srsly?
Dude, you should be ashamed.
What you said is, once we take away the double negative (which is, of course, a no no in english. sorry for the pun!) is:
Just because you can read the code means it is open source.
Which is weird, considering your replying to someone who is saying the same thing.
I think you might of meant "just because you can read the source code doesn't make it open source." Which really isn't true in this situation.
So let me get this straight. Because there are websites that are doing shady stuff with the text I select and such, you want me to install a Firefox Extension that theoretically won't do anything shady with my stuff, even though its license consists of

In fact, if you were stupid enough to update it since august, your sol.
Plus they figured out jtag connections for all the models now.
... Which means they often blame mental illness on the family.
oddly enough, mental illness can be a genetic trait in families, so it's not actually wrong...

They need to grow some balls. An underpaid janitor gets to clean rotten piss off the bathroom floor everyday.
seriously dude, really?
How is the piss going to be rotten if the janitor is cleaning it up everyday?
I see zombies as being everyone around me, and the joy of surviving by having to kill everyone around me.
I mean, it's a symptom of stress, and when your stressed, you wish everyone was zombies...
