I love science. They take the MRI off 1 person who was beatboxing and now secrets are revealed? What happened to studying a bunch of beat boxers with MRI's and studying the result of all the tests?
What if this beat boxer is a special person, has a brain unlike anyone elses in the world? How do we know what is normal from this study?
My problem is it feels like the writers shoehorned the characters in to appeal to the gay community. It is said that Dr. Who is very popular among the gay population as the character of the Dr is indifferent to things like religion, race, sex, etc. He is always on the side of good, he fights for everyones rights. So they jumped on that train and awkwardly shoved gay characters into the story.
Its so in your face that it feels fake which ruins the story.
It's odd, but there are gay people in the world. So to have gay characters on his show isn't a big deal.
But lets get real here. I have noticed in the last 10 years that "gay" is the new cool. I read comics books, and you know how many super heroes are declaring themselves gay now? Quite a bit. It's cool to be gay. Which is good, since it's better then being cruel to the gays.
But anyways, just like Nerds & Geeks got their 15 mins, it's the gays turn. So if seeing gay people on TV make you uncomfortable, I suggest you stop watching TV, or just watch old Doctor Who Episodes, where everyone was strait, married members of the opposite sex and, um, didn't sing show tunes.
Your last line though cracked me up. "Its so in your face that it feels fake which ruins the story." Doctor Who stories are fake. Doctor Who is fake. Time travel isn't possible and the Doctor Who universe isn't real. Gay people are real, so to be honest, if there is gay people in doctor who episodes, that is about as real as you can get in a doctor who story. Nothing else is real. No dude who travels the universe in a police box, that picks up hot chicks and don't sex them. No frozen warrors from mars, no cybermen (though you can cyber).
Doctor Who stories are fake, sorry to disappoint. Gay people on the other had, are real.
Shush. You know what I mean. (Though I have watched some of old-actually-season-1. I thought it was extremely dull. I haven't gotten around to watching any of the *later* old-DW, though.)
I love it when the random internet wanker says 1 thing, then claims the "you know what I meant." No, I don't know what you mean. I do not have ESP, I can not read fucking minds. I do know what you typed and posted and it says something different.
But saying Season 5 refers correctly to the 1967 season of Doctor Who.
But sure, we know that you meant you are too lazy to type the correct info for people, because you don't give a fuck if people know facts, or shit that you make up because you are too lazy to check it.
I don't mean to divert attention away from Valve's management structure and handbook, but... well...
[...] assembling and selling computers. When she and her partner later had a disagreement, Ellsworth opened a separate business in competition.
[...] she moved to Walla Walla, Washington and attended Walla Walla College, studying circuit design for about a year. She dropped out due to a "cultural mismatch"; Ellsworth said that questioning professors' answers was frowned upon.
Seems like it's always someone else's fault and never hers. The world is persecuting her!
tbh, Walla Walla really sucks as a town. I couldn't imagine the college being any better. I figured all they did was trained people for the Walla Walla State Prison.
Ahh to be young again, and have a strict moral code. Yes I am a sellout but I am glad I did.... I can justify many of the moral imbiguities of saying it is helping more people than they are hurting.
...
Weird. I'm in my 40's and I kept my morals. No, I'm not rich, but then that's not what life is about to me. You know, I can justify anything by making up shit that sounds good, but isn't true.
before video games kids played cowboys and indians. we learned at an early age to kill off the idiots trying to kick us off their land
Actually, playing cowboys and indians is different because in the end you know you are play acting.,,,
I don't know about you, but when I play video games, I know I am PLAYING. I do NOT feel that it is real. I know that I am not really killing other people, anymore then when my character dies, it's me that is dying. If you can NOT tell the difference between real life and video games, or for that matter, real life and TV/Movies, then you have problems, and those problems might be related to video games, but video games are not the cause of it.
People need to to responsibility for their actions. If you are being violent in RL, then you probably have anger issues you need to work on. Blaming it on video games or TV/Movies is bullshit.
All the major players spy on each other. Even their allies. I think it's expected to happen and only when it becomes public do the players pretend to be outraged.
Don't kid yourself about European nations engaging in spying as well, including inside the US and their own neighbors.
They didn't get caught at it, they didn't get the data they have collected over the years leaked out. I know the government is paying you to shill, but the truth is, the USA fucked up bad, got caught fucking up bad and now has to pay the price.
All of you that say "but everyone spies" it doesn't change the facts: You are not supposed to be spying and the USA got caught red handed.
You know, everyone "jaywalks" but you still can get tickets for it. Everyone smokes weed, but it still illegal in most states.
But mom, everyone is doing it! Seriously, everyone is doing it has NEVER been an excuse.
The state department's budget is about $50 billion annually. There is probably some waste in there, but shaving off $630k in Facebook marketing is not a very promising place to start (that'd be a savings of 0.00126%!).
Besides which, various PR nonsense is a big part of what the state department does; it's sort of the marketing/sales department of the U.S. government.
I beg to differ. That is a lot of money. That is money that could go to better stuff, like education. Buying "likes" just shows that you suck so bad you have to spend PR money.
No, in this case, punishment absolutely has to be a concern. The next time another pompous asshole considers to perjure himself in front of Congress, I want him to remember this guy serving 5-10 years and then reconsider the real consequences of his actions. And we might not have those secret programs in the first place.
I'm thinking time for a new election, anyone currently in congress, the senate or part of the presidents pack, your time as a politician is over. Done, you are all impeached or removed from office for failing the American people.
We then nullify the laws they have been making against our freedom, get rid of most of the 3 letter agencies, and try this again.
And maybe that will make politicians think that going against the constitution is a stupid move.
Look, it beats a revolution, which is my next idea. Our government is rotten. Everyone in it is responsible for this mess, everyone. They are to serve us, and they haven't been. Time to get fresh blood in.
Everybody who can do it, does it. Back in the 80s the US had to abandon an embassy we were building in the USSR because it was full of bugs even before it was built, so many and so deep in the infrastructure that there was no way to clean it.
Every country has spies to spy on every other country it considers worth spying on. The intelligence world even has a term for spies attached to a country's official diplomatic mission.
You don't understand or are a Government shill.
Everyone does it has NEVER been an excuse to let something go. I used to say that shit when I was a kid. "But Mom, cousin Aaron did it!" You know what she said to me? "If Aaron ate some dog shit, would you also?" Of course the answer is no.
So dog shit = spying. Every country might do it, but right now, the whole world has documented proof that the United States likes to eat dogshit from every country.
In typical grammar school fashion, the USA is now trying to beat up the person who provided the proof, instead of learning from it, and fixing their mistakes. And guess what? The United States Government is scum. History isn't going to be kind to it, unless the USA writes the textbooks, but seeing as we outsource to other countries, that probably isn't happening.
Anyways, you are a shill, so what i say doesn't matter.
No matter what you think of Snowden, at this point he's just a whistleblower or spy.
Just a whistle blower? He's God damn American hero, even if most American's can't understand that. Where are the yellow ribbons reading "Support Our Whistle Blowers"?
I want a Snowden for President t-shirt. Who's going to make them so I can buy one?
I agree that we in the US have long ago since stopped being the land of the free, but I don't think Stalin is a good comparison. I doubt we really know how many people disappeared in the night, how many were actually incarcerated, how many were sent to Siberia, how many were just killed outright.
At the rate the United States Government is going, I expect people that speak out to start disappearing...
This hysteria to have as wide screen as possible is limiting the usefulness when it comes to business applications and software development.
For software development your screen(s) needs to horizontally span three pages: One page for docs, one page for your editor, and one page for testing/debugger. You want a vertical resolution to display at least a full page of documentation. If you are going to do all that on a single monitor, then 2560x1600 is common and cheap enough, so I don't see why anyone would settle for the 2560x1080 in TFA. 1080 is insufficient vertical res.
Dang, I don't know how i survived programming C on a CGA monitor back in the late 80's.
But even in a hypothetical situation, you watch a movie in your massive living room screen with your imaginary friends, would you hurl their phone if they were texting their chums?
no because I don't watch TV/Movies in the dark in my home.
Atlassian has absolute contempt for their paying customers. Each release of JIRA has functionality and flexibility that people actually want removed in the name of making it easier to use for new users. JIRA and Crucible use some monstrosity of JavaScript that causes lag when typing into intput fields, and certain versions clash with Ghostery in a way that causes certain characters (e.g. spaces) to be swallowed. It's sad, but it doesn't surprise me at all that they don't care about security in an authentication system.
Actually you gave the answer why. Since they are focused on new customers, it's all about the money they can get. Fixing stuff cost money, so they don't.
Beatboxers are NOT rare, so why study just 1?

Season 5 of Doctor Who was in 1967. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Who_(season_5)
What they call "Series 5" started in 2010. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Who_(series_5)
Or you say, Season 5 of the 2005 reboot.
But saying Season 5 refers correctly to the 1967 season of Doctor Who.
But sure, we know that you meant you are too lazy to type the correct info for people, because you don't give a fuck if people know facts, or shit that you make up because you are too lazy to check it.
I'm not a Doctor Who fan, and when I first heard "The Doctor", I thought of the holographic Doctor on Star Trek Voyager.
And we feel sorry for you.
should put out of their misery then they get this stupid.
"We have powered devices for many years through Windows PCs and Xbox."
What the heck is that actually supposed to mean?
I think it means they have powered Xbox Controllers and mice and keyboards, usb harddrives/sticks/flash chips and the kinetic.
Basically, if you can plug it into the Xbox or Windows PC and it powers up, MS has been there for ya. I guess they are an electric company now.
Anyone who uses cloud services in the society of total surveillance is not valuing confidentiality of his data
I read 1984 when I was in high school. that was in the 70's.
I wonder how they present the book and teach to it, at school, these days? or even, do they?
...
Yes, but they call it Current Events now.

Dad, is that you?

Why would the government demand that? They already are tapped into Facebook, they know all your friends, and your private pictures.

They can do that out in the hall.
