So in other words, security guys say OS X has problems, Apple says nuh uh, security guys risk the security of all the Macs out there by posting vulnerabilities for our machines that can be exploited. Wow, yah thanks for that, you really showed Apple with that... and risked my Mac's security. Thanks, thanks a ton! Way to keep Apple "honest." Do you get how sarcastic I'm being.
Worked for best buy last year. And geek squad is essentially there to install SpySweeper, Norton, etc. Generally they're supposed to be A+ certified, but they tend to have a lot of computers come in. The guys in our store were generally pretty knowledgable. They tended to have to wipe a lot of HDs. That's essentially their job. I was kinda like the subsititue geek whenever Macs came in. It's stand back and tell them what to do because they recognized I knew far more than they did about them, but of course it was their job and I was a sales guy.
I'm pretty sure the analyst just liked typing ATI and AMD together. I mean I imagine he thinks they do almost the exact same thing... they both begin with A right?
Those bastards put my lovable puck mouse in dishonourable mentions! Bastards! I loved my little blueberry puck and it was not an ergonomic nightmare, it was easy if you weren't freaking brain dead! It's probably my third favourite mouse I've ever owned. I would use it today if it were both optical, and had some sort of scrolling feature... and if I hadn't stepped on it and broken it.
Freaking anti-apple bastards!
I could have told you that this is how the theory of evolution would suggest things when I was in high school. Problem is that I believe God created the world, and I'm not convinced that He did so using evolution. Thus I'm inclined to believe it was a chicken first.
If you know a lot of pastors then you should know this is true. Coming from a Christian College in Canada, there's a massive stigma about being a PK that leads to problems with sex, booze , sex, more drugs, and sex. I've known tons of PKs very few of them have not been screwed up.
And people should become pastors not because their parents were but because God called them.
There was no web cast, no mention on Apple's page until the products were introduced, how is that hyping? They weren't hyping the press event, they were hyping the products they put out which makes sense. As for the items they sold. First we have the iPod hi fi, pretty big announcement as far as Apple's concerned. It'll either be huge or a massive flop... for once I kind of hope Apple has a flop because from what I've heard the specs on the thing are not exceptional and the design is weak in my opinion. The new Mac mini is a pretty big announcement for a whole lot of people. And the leather case, well why not intro it with other products. Don't imagine Jobs spent forever on that bit, it's kind of like the successor to the iPod sock, which for the record I actually own, seems like a strange idea but they work very well. They don't keep the iPod from getting scratched a lil but they keep the big ones off, and they protect it from falls pretty well.
Have you ever tried to find a good case for your iPod? I bought a DLO one that actually scratched my screen! I welcome an Apple branded one.
Oi vey, A) server chip not a desktop and certainly not a laptop chip. B) Universal binaries mean that if this tech ever did make it into successors to the PPC 970, then Apple could release a new tower with it without so much as a hickup. Apps are still going to be made for both PPC and x86 for years yet, and at any point for the next while Apple can certainly switch right back.
The Makers of Luna should never be allowed to set foot into any sort of visual design space of any sort... this just disturbs me far too much. Oh well hopefully this will piss off Adobe good enough to include CoreImage support in the next version of Photoshop.
It's pretty sad when people would like to pretend they're soo much smarter and so much more enlightened than others, and yet spend so much of their time trying to figure out all the ways that everyone else is wrong and they're right. Ahh insecure nerds.
Why is it academics and scientists so often decide that they are simply better than everyone else? Simply because by their own standards they achieve better than others? How would they feel if groups of people who say excelled at spiritual aspects of life, which apparently are beyond the reach of so many of these people, and simply stated that the realization of intelligent design was the top epiphany of 2005? It'd be laughed as a self promoting statement. Of course though I imagine they'd be quite offended if we pointed out this was the same thing.
Humans are arrogant.
Yet another way for parents to avoid spending time with their kids. Seriously why the heck would anyone come up with this sort of thing? As someone who works with teenagers a lot already, I have to say I'm a bit annoyed. Tons of the kids I work with through our church have parents who I swear can't be bothered to give their kids the nurture and self respect they need. Instead they just buy them things. At least an iPod nano to an unloved kid makes the kid cool at school. This'll just drive them to try more medications designed for chemical imbalances that won't fix depression brought on by these sorts of situations.
Wish my teachers had to admit that Evolution isn't as solid as a Mac:). Seriously though, it's pretty obvious if you study the theory that it really does have a lot of areas where uncertainty reigns. And I get really annoyed when people pretend that it's water tight, often solely because they don't like Jesus.

Makes a lil sense, I mean this isn't like Apple for Jobs, this is a company he bought and helped raise up and stuff it's not the company he helped create like Apple. Though honestly I can't see why he wouldn't want to hold on to it. It's not as if he needs the cash. Unless he's planning on out right buying a really large chunk of Apple or something.
You know, lately HP seems to be wanting to partner with anyone to help unseat MS. I mean they made the deal to put iTunes on all their computers, not sure if they're still doing so. And now this. I mean I can't say I mind at all... but it's just funny to see.
Oh well the more people we have using something other than IE, even if it's Netscape, the better.
Of course it's off base... I mean... first of all you've got that stuff about ribosomes... they're not even really called that... I was talking to God... and when He made them He actually called them, "those thingies" apparently we didn't realized that and started calling em something else... silly humans...
Sadly I don't think creative's going to die terribly soon. They sadly still do sell some to unsuspecting people. Someone I know recently got a crappy Zen micro thingy, he was like... yah I know it's not as good as an iPod but it was cheap. I just shook my head and was reminded yet again how happy I am that I have a 4 gig mini.
Actually we really don't have the iTunes DRM cracked. I mean it can be circumvented but it hasn't been cracked since version 4.6
No spreadsheets but Keynote works amazing for presentations. iWork is pretty nice in general. Hopefully 2007 brings a spreadsheet app.

Never been so glad to be a Mac user...

From Apple after MacWorld San Francisco

The question is, how much will your average cluster be spending on Norton as a result of this?
