Where does everyone get this idea that ID people believe that dinosaurs didn't exist?
Do you really believe that this is what they think or is it just a joke?
95% of our users only use Word and Excel, so your list doesn't apply at all to us...but Openoffice isn't taken seriously at my company because "everybody uses Microsoft".
Just like on the DS (which was also considered a gimmick), some games use the extra features...some don't.
The point is that you pick which style is best for the game...the developers have the option to pick the best interface. Unlike the other platforms where you have to shoehorn your game into the old style controller.
They aren't going after the serious gamer market, as it is very small. They are going after the "everybody and their mother" market, which might include some serious gamers.
Also, you don't have to hold the controllers out at arms length to use them...you can just as easily hold them in your lap....
Seriously, who over the age of twenty is going to buy a DS?
I'm 28, my wife is 28 and we BOTH own one. My wife isn't a gamer, but the DS has titles that we both can play (zookeeper, metriod pinball, etc) together AND has the addicting games that I can play by myself (Advance Wars DS, I'm looking at you).
That is the worst feeling, when your Service Provider is down and everyone is looking at you for solutions and you have to just sit there and wait when you want to be doing something to fix the problem.
And, of course, you still have to pay for that downtime.
Software as a service is great if you have some way to export your data. My company has (not my choice) bought into an online ERP system which looks good from afar, but is apparently far from good.
Now that all our data is in the system and we are running our operations off of their system we are pretty much screwed...they can jump the price at any point and we just have to pay it. The sales people lie (no surprises there) about having ways to export your data, but there aren't any really there.
Just be sure before you jump into something like this that you have a way to get your data back AND get it in writing that said tools will always remain and be current.
(and, yes, since we bought into their system they have moved to only allowing Internet Explorer....D'oh!)
The Gamecube wasn't a failure, I love mine. Brittlefish has posted an interesting look at some of the hurdles Nintendo will now face to market this thing and keep it from being a "failure". Interesting read.

What is hurting the industry isn't the fact that publishers have been putting out unoriginal crap for the past two years....it is that we keep buying it.
Well, maybe I can actually start using SVG Graphs in webpages without having to install that dumb plugin (the plugin doesn't work out of the box with Firefox, you have to move files around).
Looks like the "millions of ads" made it to boing boing first too.
No, thanks, I'll wait and read it on slashdot. Yes, it sucks, but no, the site isn't littered with annoying images.
The game isn't great either. Not to mention old. I bought this game many months ago. I stopped playing because their linux support sucked and I was tired of their fixes changing where stuff was located in the game.
It could have been cool, but the game just isn't.
Get a big screen TV, hook your Xbox2 up to it and use someone else's gaming experience as silent visuals at your next party.
You'd be suprised at how many people will end up crowding in to see.
"DC2 Opens on Wednesday with limited server availability. Initial deployments are likely to be dual drive/1 GB configurations. Additional configurations will follow as time and space allow."
Yep...its a publicity stunt...

Change is bad, apparently.
In putting and chipping do not backswing. That solved my problem.
You are better off NOT buying a PS3.
If they sell 1 million PS3's with no games they will lose money, but if they sell 0 PS3's with no games they will lose about 600 million $ more....
Wii (w/game and controller) - $250
3 Extra Wiimotes - $120
1 Extra Nunchuk - $20
2 Retro Controllers - $40
Rayman - $50
Excite Truck - $50
Zelda - $50
2000 points for the VC - $20
Total $600, the same price as the PS3 with nothing extra.
"There's no change in our plan to release the console in the last quarter of this year."
That means October at the earliest....
That is what I first thought of when I saw this....CVS and XLS upload and download, but no OpenDocument.
Why would I want to keep my stuff in XLS format unless I'm using Excel?

Reading through the list, I could only hope that this would be the linup...I'd buy at least half of these titles (if they existed).
I know of 5 people with a DS, and only one person who *wants* to get a PSP....so we even each other out.

That's weird...the article was in the "older articles" but not on the main page even though it was just posted...

I'm not sure which is worse...the government having control of my line or the cable companies having control...
Hitting yourself in the head may leave a bruise.... Duh!
You can't legally reverse engineer the brain...Microsoft had a patent on it years ago.
