Set up a little Basic introduction, the old 'Hello World' schtick. 'Help' them type out the code (all 2 incredible lines of it!) and watch them marvel in thier instant command of the computer.
Bond with prior art? I don't think so. The Thermoptics from Ghost in the Shell were way before this, and there were most likely stories about invisibility devices way before that. As well as stories of invisibility throughout history.
Or just get a GP32. Pleanty of devkits for it (the community games and software for it FAR outnumber the commercial ones), and you can play extra WADs. And play movies of course.
No, the reason LCDs can't be layered is because they're POLARISED! One layer switching would block the light to all the other layers.
And layering the screens with enough gap between them (0.5 mm should be enough) would allow you to build up a block that can dsiplay images in 3d. You'd need a LOT of projectors, but it would work.
Using your analogy, if you placed 100 layers of acetate on top of each other, you would get a 3d image forming.
If it could me modified to only accept projected light from a given angle (grating or a very highly polarised filter perhaps?), sevaral projectors could be used to 'layer' screens into a 3d block display. Expensive, but for people who NEED high quality 3d displays then money is most likely not an object.
minidishes (commonly used in the UK for digital satellite television) can be easily adapted to use a WiFi signal boosters. They're highly directiuonal of course, but ranges of 2 or more kilometers LOS are not unknown. Plus, no boosting equipment is required, just a modification to the antenna.
Usually, I am against the kind of closed standards Sony imposes, but thisis an exception. Why? Storage capacity. Blu-ray has a masively greater storage capacity compard to HD-DVD. Yes,they contain the same amount and qwuality of movie due to their different comproseeion algorythams, but for raw data capacity, Blu-ray wins. As I'll almost certainly be using a combination of HDD storage and few disks for a home theatre system, i'm more focussed on the raw capacityof the disksor storage and transfer of other data.
Someone show this to the guys working on foobar2000. We know your player is extremely well made and programmed, and works excellently. But that's not excuse for your UI to be so terrible. I'm not saying it should be 'user firendly' in the sense that an idiot could sue it, but in a way that just makes it easy to perform actions, instead of slow and irritating as it now is.
Yes, I know foober2000 needs customising to use it to it's full potential, but that doesn't mean that the 'out of the box' UI should be so awful that you have to change it!
Is MPEG 4 an open standard? Are there any open standards (Dirac maybe?) that are at an advanced enough stage of development to be used as an alternative?
And grammatical correctness too.
Shouldn't that be 'from the invisible-ink department'?
*ducks barrage of flying objects*
It switches to electric at 25, what happens at 80?
This is supposed to be 'NEWs for nerds'. Emphasis on NEW.
I highly reccoment the radio series (plural). If you can stand other passengers wondering why you're sniggering, that is.
What the hell happened to the JIMO mission?

How commercial closed-source software issues get, perhaps.

England disputes patent under 'Prior Art'.
And Bill Bailey of course. Master of the Theremin (among other things).

If you're going for an AV-component look (i.e. clean and functional, but relatively stylish) then Silverstone make some pretty damn good cases.

Stick the damn chip in my head already!

Been there, done that.
From the impression at the Venice Film Festival, Sharks Tale beats Finding Nemo into he ground.
It works for mastercard too. Just replace Visa with Mastercard in the search.
Hasn't this been out for ages? Or is this just a new release for the US market?
