The Hindenburg caught fire and burned because of the paint that was used in it's construction, the hydrogen just made it burn hotter/longer. It didn't CAUSE the fire.

I've got 9, ranging from beater uprights to recumbent trikes (and a sweet 1972 Schwinn Town & Country upright trike). I bought the latest one for $2.50 at a police auction. I plan to fix it up and GIVE it to some neighborhood kids. When I move here in a few months I'll give most of the others away to people too. I do the same thing with old computer stuff too, giving it to someone that doesn't have one or has one much older than whatever I'm otherwise tossing out. I'm not sure if I like working on bikes more or computers more.
Bikes are dirty and sweaty work.. computers are cleaner but I'm more prone to gouging my hands up inside a case.
That's what I was trying to say earlier but said better.
It's like all the CS people I knew in college are working at McDonalds or Wal-Mart now...
On the other hand, I know the military is big on hiring games theory people for their warfare sims. I don't suppose this would help in that department however unless they gave a serious background in that area.
I'm not a game designer nor do I work for one... I wonder how the degree will be accepted by design houses? This could easily be looked at as "Oh, you don't have any REAL experiance... just this academic stuff".
People have trouble remembering to change the batteries in their smoke detectors now, imagine what will happen when their AC goes out because they forgot to put new batteries in it.:)
What is heavier? A ton of bricks or a ton of feathers? Neither!!! THEY ARE THE SAME.
No they aren't!

We (I'm in IT at KSU) use Spybot all the time because it is freeware. AdAware would be lovely to add in to catch the crap that Spybot doesn't (and I do that on my home machines) but AdAware is not FREE for University use. We'd have to buy it, and the admins won't let us. (Now I have to contact AdAware to find out how much they would want... maybe I can convince the powers that be)
At this point if I find AdAware installed on a computer I have to remove it! (Nothing stops the user from putting it back on though)
1 foot != thick tree and 2 inches of concrete is a far cry from wall thickness in most applications. So the claim of "concrete walls and thick trees" is still overstated.
Yeah, sure. Just make sure you have cover, not "cover". Assault rifle/machine gun rounds travel through thick trees, concrete walls and two feet of ground. Suddenly you don't have all that cover that games make you think you have.
What are you smoking?Assault rifle rounds might penetrate 2 feet of earth (depending on the type of earth we're talking about) but thick trees and concrete walls? No... you've been watching Navy Seals too much!
Ok, in your fantasies maybe... if you have a girl that hot and you're posting to /. instead of shagging her right now you are a moron.
Or that the USPS is dropping their cycling sponsorship after this years TdF.

I like Jobst and often agree with him but he's got a bias that shows.

Right, I didn't RTFA before commenting... bad me. Now I'll get marked Troll and loose even more Kharma.
So, can't the publisher sue SCO now? I wonder how long until we see an update about that happening.

Maybe I wouldn't have been Modded Troll if I'd mentioned I'm an Xbox fan... maybe I would have though. ;)
This will put those Xbox fans back on their ass where they belong!
