I can garantee, this will not be a panacea for those of us who do not want to be 'computer savvy' and have to mess around installing software, or maintaining it. It is just as easy to get digitally-screwed with online content whether it's your desktop or your pay-pal account. One good thing is that it's another option in the desktop area. We need more of those.

"Apjit Walia, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets, agreed, noting that AMD is enjoying at least the perception that its products are better than Intel's chips."

Interesting quote. I've never seen an intel chip outperform an amd chip. Even the k62-450 had more snap to it over the PII-450. I replaced three dell boxes a couple months ago that had p3 3.4 processors in them with fx-55 homegrowns. The guys that use them say they never want their intel boxes back.

We ran a test on the 3.4 P3 and the fx-55, converting a 20 meg Parasolid into an IGES file (this is all cad work). The p3 finished in something like 3 mintes. The fx-55 did it 1.75 minutes.

The speed difference is 3.4ghz vs. 2.8ghz. you can see those numbers make no sense anymore.

    2) There is no way to solve every problem that comes along with (insert your favorite language here) efficiently. I don't care how sexy or catchy the name sounds. Writing windows apps in assembly *sucks*, and coding in 32k of ram with Visual Studio *sucks*. Everything else is relative.

People get paid to use their judgement. Let people use their best judgement when it comes to picking their tools. If their ego or judgement is a problem, deal with that accordingly.

half of 2.7 is about 1.3 (the 5 of the 15% which is half of 10)
    2.7 + 1.3 = 3.9 = $4.00 (round up to be nice)

People argue that some names are so regular no one could possibly narrow it down, but a simple whois can help narrow things down to a particular state.
