last new find was a couple of years ago and added something like 5 years to the deadline. only country that has been increasing its energy consumption in the last decade is China. all the others are getting poorer and poorer.

Two contenders were the bigger iPad pro, and ms surface line, both in the >$1000 range.
went with the ipad because the build quality and looks of the surface were simply terrible, more like a $100 asus convertible i have knocking round from 3 or 4 years ago. my first apple product, and still use it everyday.

recommending the surface 2 also has implications for the original surface, like when intel wins all the processor wars, then en mass people end up buying processors like the celeron which are twice the price and half the performance of an amd chip.

ie i agree surface 2 should be tainted by the surface 1. but only as long as they are both for sale.

ms really needs to up their game if they want to compete in the hardware space.

And they could do it. Fix the fov issues with hololens, launch it with an 8 inch tablety phone with the best hardware not available yet that pairs seamlessly and wirelessly with windows 10 as a passthrough device and people will come back to the microsoft ecosystem.

But until we get that kind of change, ms is more meh than yeah.
